Born in Novara, Felice Casorati [1883-1963] spent his formative years in Padua, where he developed an interest in music and literature. He began to paint in 1902, and read law at the University of Padua, graduating in 1906, while frequenting the studio of Giovanni Viannello (1873-1926). Casorati's early paintings were in the symbolist mode of the Vienna Secession.
Andrea Serio's blog "Andrea Serio was born in Carrara in 1973. Oscillating illustrator, obsessive pastelist, cartoonist, pyromaniac, creator of wonderful record covers, Tarot card aficionado, billboard creator, painter, music, movie and literature buff from the very beginning (not necessarily in that order and preferably not separated), his attitude towards computers is hostiles, and he types on keyboards with one finger, like François Truffaut. His drawings have been featured in exhibitions like the Turin Book Fair, the Babel International Festival in Athens, TorinoComics, as well as the Lugocontemporaneo music and avant-garde contemporary artist festival. He has worked as a professor at the International School of Comic Books in Turin and Florence since 2012. He is currently working on his second graphic comic book and his first children’s book." When I first saw Lisa Kellner's work, I could not take my eyes off of it. These images are undoubtedly beautiful, but evoke an unsettling feeling for me. There are endless possibilities of what she could be representing in her work, but what I love most, is that I see something different every time I look at it. Made of silk, these very organic sculptures feel a bit threatening as they seem to grow out of spaces, spreading across walls and ceilings and overflowing onto the floor. "Rooted in the language of decay, erosion and disease, [her] work merges intricate microcosms with immense topographies. In all of [her] work there is an awareness of location (whether a centimeter wide area on the body or an aerial view of earth) that facilitates the exploration of place and its emotive aspects." (all images and the excerpt from her artist statement are taken from Lisa Kellner's official website)
For a brief time Berthe Morisot was bigger than Monet, Renoir and Pissarro.

"I was inspired by the amount of history that each corner of this door carries, by the depth and refinement of the details and I wanted to reproduce this in my style."

The two are seated on a swing, hanging on heavy ropes suspended from large unseen branches in a thick forest bathed with glowing primordial light. Her gown, diaphanous and white, more than slightly reveals her perfect sensual form. His arms hold tightly to the ropes, which supports them. Springtime is arguably the single greatest image of young romantic love ever conceived, poignantly touching the hearts of millions over the last 125 years. Pierre August Cot painted Springtime in 1873. Soon thereafter it was exhibited at the Paris Salon where it created a sensation. In the decades that followed it became a virtual icon of 19th Century sensibilities and taste, with fame so widespread that most westerners still recognize the image, if not the artist. Reproduced millions of times, the odyssey of this masterpiece is one of the fascinating and mysterious stories of the art world.

The acrylic and mixed-media paintings of Hernan Bas carry a coming-of-age quality, pulling from varying periods. His influences, among several other mediums, have a particular consideration of “the Aesthetic and Decadent writers of the 19th century, in particular Oscar Wilde, Charles Baudelaire and Joris-Karl Huysman,” a statement says. Film, poetry, and art history itself also have an impact on his contemplative works.
