I don't have a card to share with you today but I do have some crafty goodness. My niece asked me about the possibility of making some muslin flowers to tie around mason jars for wedding table decorations so I told her I would make her some samples. I ran 5 pieces of muslin through my cuttlebug with a large scalloped circle spellbinders die and then 1 piece of burlap with a smaller scalloped circle die to create my first attempt at a flower. It was so easy to put together which would be great for mass producing and I really like the results. I'm planning to work on some more samples for her this weekend in case she isn't as excited about this one as I am. :) If you'd like to make some of these, all you need is 5 pieces of muslin and 1 burlap piece. Take one muslin circle, fold it in half and then in half again by bringing the edges to the center to form a point. You can see a sample of one circle folded in the bottom left of this photo. Once you have done that to four of the muslin circles, sew them to the fifth piece for your base. Next, place the burlap piece in the center and stitch it down with a button. Couldn't be easier. I used a glue dot to adhere one of the flowers to my button jar as a sample. I can envision these flowers on all kinds of projects. Wouldn't they be cute on headbands and cards and scrapbook pages and pillows? I'm thinking a banner would be really fun too. Maybe I'll work on one for the bridal shower. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you've had a wonderful week and are able to do something fun and crafty this weekend. Happy Stamping Crafting!

As wreaths are very much a symbol of Christmas around the world, we decided to pull together our Christmas wreath content into a theme at Activity Village. We've got colouring pages, printables of all kinds for home and classroom, and a number of Christmas wreath crafts, too.
I'm excited to share a little friendly challenge today between myself and HB (fellow Minnesota blogger/cardmaker). Last month, I was fortunate enough to attend the October Afternoon Warehouse sale and while standing in line waiting to get in I happened to see HB from Happiness Blooms. We attended a Copic Certification class together a couple of years ago at ScrapFest and so it was really great to see her. While we were chatting we decided a friendly challenge to push us to use our newly acquired supplies might be fun. So today's challenge was to use the October Afternoon Cakewalk collection. I enjoyed using the Cakewalk papers so much that I ended up making a couple of cards for the challenge. For my first project, I went with a tag card. I made one for my daughter's birthday several years ago and I thought it would be fun to try making another. The tag is cut 4 1/2 x 10", scored every 2 1/2", the corners clipped off and accordian folded. I used a variety of papers from the 8x8 Cakewalk collection and a 12x12 piece of Hula Hoop to create the base. The sentiments are from Paper Smooches Hullabaloo set. I love the little critters on the Kazoo papers. I just cut them out and mounted them on the card with foam dimensionals. For the next card I used the Paper Smooches Hullabaloo set again. I stamped the cupcake image with Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copics to match the background papers. Finally I made this quick card by cutting out a variety of circles and another of the images from the Kazoo paper. I hope you've enjoyed my projects and our little challenge. I can't wait to see what HB made. Don't forget to check out her blog Happiness Blooms. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy Stamping!
