Our 3 year old is being upgraded to a big girl room, so it's only fitting that we give her a whole new room. It helps that we just bought a new house, too.
Today I'm sharing pictures of our daughter's new big girl room and reminiscing over the special rooms my mom made for me when I was little.

You may remember that I mentioned I wanted to change up my kids' rooms a bit. I've made a few changes in Preston's room, like this diy wall letter and this space saver desk. Still not calling his room complete, but it's close. Lyla's room on the other hand has stumped me. We moved her furniture around, but ended up moving it back and I just didn't know what I wanted to do in her room. She's in kindergarten and 5 1/2 yrs, so I didn't want anything too babyish :( but nothing too grown up either. And then I saw an instagram picture posted by the sweet talented Sarah. It was this giant adorable metallic gold heart from Urban Walls that she put over her daughter's bed and I knew I had to have it. We got it up Saturday evening and I heart it SO much! Seriously, I've walked in her room many times just to look at it again ;) I finally feel like I have a starting point for her room. I still have some other plans for this room, like new bedding, a new lamp and art work, but this heart makes me so happy to walk in her room even with everything else not complete. And the best part is that Lyla absolutely loves it! I think it fits her personality and her age perfectly. I even told my husband I love it so much, I'm tempted to buy another one just in case we move...ha! Have a fantastic day!
Miss Madeline's Floral Nursery. It was important for me to find decor that was transitional, budget friendly and unique for her room.
Come and take a peek inside Christie's big girl room. A gorgeous girl's bedroom designed by Georgina, her talented Mum from Wool and Willow.
If you are looking for beautiful and functional girl's room ideas look no further! Not only is this room beautiful, but it can grow with a toddler all the way into teenage years. I originally shared this room with you guys almost five years ago, and I am happy to report that not only has everything held up SO well, but Nora still loves it so much. If that isn't winning in girl's room design, I don't know what is! *This post contains affiliate links. Over the years we updated a few things just to make the function of the room
Hi friends! I've got a great treat lined up for you today... a drop by from the incredibly talented Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors! In case you haven't found her blog yet, here's a sneak peek at Danielle's beautiful home and amazing interior design skills. Great, right? You can check out more of her house tour here. And while you're over on her blog, get excited to meet Danielle's cutie patootie daughter, Emory. She is so precious, she steals the show! Today Danielle has stopped by to share three wishes as part of the Ten June Genie Series. Take it away! *** Hi Ten June readers, I am Danielle from Danielle Oakey Interiors. I am thrilled to be here today participating in Michelle's Genie series. I am a BIG dreamer, so this is perfect for me. Only one problem, I might need more than 3 wishes! For my first wish, I would LOVE a house. I've tried my hardest to make my tiny condo work, but it just isn't the same. A real kitchen, more than one bathroom, space to entertain, and a yard...sounds like a dream come true to me. Oh, and since we're dreaming here, not just any home will do. A custom home built by Tiek homes will be perfect. They build the most amazing homes with no details spared, drool worthy really. {all images by Meikel Reece via Tiek Homes} For my second wish, I would like medical school to be over and our school loans gone! My husband is in his third year of medical school, it is torture and SO expensive. It would be amazing to have my hubby around once in a while...and him making some money wouldn't be too bad either! My third wish would be an unlimited gift card to J.Crew Cuts. I absolutely LOVE dressing up my daughter, and J.Crew Cuts always gets it right. In fact, I am kinda obsessed with the clothes they have right now... Thanks so much for having me Michelle! It was fun to dream a little. Now do I really have to go back to reality? *** Thanks, Danielle! Hello, I think I need a custom Tiek home now. Insanely gorgeous! One last reminder... if you've got a fun Easter or spring inspired project that you'd like to share with Ten June readers, shoot me an email (please put "Easter Project!" in the subject line) with pictures and a description or a link to your post on the project by tonight at midnight, EST and I may feature it later this week!
