I love my bed! Today I finally put the ruffled bed skirt I ordered months ago, on my bed. It's so perfect. I really don't know why I waited so long. I am sure if your into looking at the decorating blogs you probably have seen this bed skirt before, used as a table cloth too ( I also have another as a table cloth). But you may wonder how mine seems to have so many more ruffles. Well it's because I used two of the bed skirts. Then you may wonder then how I was able to get enough separation to layer the two bed skirts. So I will show you. First I put the bed skirt over the box springs like normally you would do with a bed skirt. I just have bed box springs on the ground not lifted up by any frame, because I do not like little bunny Fufu to go under by bed all the time. Also I have so many memory foam mattress pads on my bed it would be to tall if the box springs were lifted at all. Having the box springs on the floor is what gives the ruffles the hanging on the floor look. In my guest bedroom I have this same bed skirt ( only one though) and the bed is lifted in that room and the bed skirt does not touch the ground, so it really depends on the look you want, I think I like hanging on the floor better but the guestroom bed skirt looks good also. Then I put my mattress on top of the box springs and put the 2nd bed skirt over it instead of a sheet. Now here my bed still looks too short. My secret is all the memory foam mattress pads I put on next. All the memory foam makes the bed so comfy you litterly sink in. My moms says its hard to get back up after you lay in my bed because you sink in so much Lol. But I love it, its so comfy. After I put all the memory foam back on (like 6 or 7 layers of it) I put on the sheet over all the memory foam rather then over the mattress which is being covered by the 2nd bed skirt.. That's how I create the look of so many ruffles. Link to where you can get the bedskirt Then when its all done, and all my layering is complete, you can't tell at all that the bed is just sitting on the ground, because it is plenty high enough. The pink bedding is also new, I found it yesterday at Goodwill it is a part of the line " Simply Shabby Chic " By Rachel Ashwell my favorite designer. My other bedding is also apart of this line and I am still keeping it too. But I am just going to switch back and forth while I'm washing one or the other. Which will be great because my bed is a king, & it's always hard to wash my comforter. It barely fits in the washer, and does not get dry in the dryer, so I hang it out to dry but it takes two or three days to do so. So it will be wonderful to have two bed spreads now. Whats so neat about my new comforter is its reversable! The problem is I can't decide which side I like better, I love both sides. I think I am a tid bit leaning to the first side that I showed in first picture, but then again I don't know because the other side goes almost perfect with the shower curtain in Master bathroom When you are laying in the bed you can see down into the master bathroom, and its looks nice with the comfter and shower curtain almost being matching but not quite exactly the same. My shower curtain is also a part of the same line as the bedding. Picture above being side one picture below being side, two which side of the comforter do you think is better? I just love how long carnations last. This one is one from my blue ball jar full in the kitchen that I showed in a picture I put on my countertop post two weeks ago. I must have bought these flowers like 15 or 16 days ago and they still look great! Oh and isn't this little pink bottle I found at Goodwill the other day just adorable? I had to lock Bella & Lacie out while I was taking the pictures for this post, meanwhile they were scratching at the door. They always want to be in the pictures Lol, so I let them in to take a few pics hehe they are so cute. I love my girls. I guess all that scartching at the door tired them out. I took these photos just now as I am laying here with them in bed, doing this post. Sleepy Lacie. Click To Follow Me Parties I love!! My new bedding is very similar to my previous bedding. Both are rosey Rachel Ashwell patterns. The only real difference is the background on the last one was a purple-ish pink, and this one is white. This is also a duvet cover the other was a comforter, that is actually in the duvet cover right now hehe. I got both my of the bedding sets at Goodwill. Our local Goodwill's resells Target returns and I have been finding a lot of simply shabby chic stuff. I was very excited that this king size duvet cover also came with two king size pillow shams. My last comforter did not come with the matching shams, I just had one twin size one I found at Goodwill on a different day. The price I paid for the whole set at Goodwill was what it cost just two buy the two shams at Target. The Fur babies all seem to like the new bedding. I have to shut the door to keep them out while taking pictures they all want on the bed, and were scratching the door the whole time. My sister took this pic of my babies and I, yesterday while she was over. This was with the previous bedding, as you can see very very similar. In pictures you can hardly tell it's more of a different color in real life. This is a cell phone pic of us, its not showing how pink the bedspread really is. I love it but I loved my other one as well, but it's fun to mix things up, I can always go back to the pink background anytime. I probably will be sharing some more of my recently simply shabby chic Goodwill finds soon, so stay tuned for more. I just love Simply Shabby Chic, everything Rachel Ashwell sells is amazing. Thanks for visiting my blog. See you next time.

Have you discovered the beautiful world of Tilda yet? Best known for its whimsical and naive characters like animals and dolls, Tilda has a certain attitude to life… whimsical and romantic, described as being like a ball gown worn with wellies – perfectly imperfect! Since I’ve been selling these products, sharing the items I make and talking about Tilda, it has created quite a buzz amongst my readers in countries where Tilda is not available. In answer to many of your questions, today I’m going to share a little background information about the designer and her gorgeous products,

I have not been posting much lately, so I thought I'd do a quick post to share with you what I have been busy doing. Which is dressing my pets up for the PetSmart online photo contest. I have been busy trying to think up the best idea's for the contest, you can have unlimited amount of entries ( as long as they are all different). There is 5 different categories, Cutest, Scariest, Funniest, Healthiest smile, & Rock star, I shared some of my entries about two weeks ago. I have entered several more photo's I am sharing with you today. Taking picture's of pets is a hobby of mine I love, so having this contest as an excuse to obsess over it, has been very fun for me. Little Bunny Fufu is entered in the "Rock star" Category I found this little doll bike at my local Goodwill, it is the perfect size for Fufu. Where's Lacie??? Lacie is entered in "Healthiest Smile" Category as a Unicorn. My little sister Chantel collects unicorns, it worked out great to take Lacie's picture will all of Chantel's stuffed unicorns. I am Louie the lion.....Hear me Roar!! Louie the Lion is entered in the "Funniest" category I was using lunch meat to keep Louie's attention for the the picture. It worked out perfect that he made this roaring face for the photo. Lacie the Lady Bug, is again entered in "healthiest smile" Lacie has a really good doggie smile so she has several entries in this category I have big plans for Billie to be Mr. Tinkles from the movie Cats & Dogs. during his Hannibal Lecter look alike scene. This will be our entry for scariest. Do most people know Mr. Tinkles is?? If you do you would probably agree that Billie already looks a lot like him. If you like the photo's & you have a Facebook pleases vote for them!! You can vote for all the photo's once per day! I would really love that, if you have a moment. Thank you! Link to view all my Entries You have to "like" PetSmart & accept the app before you can vote. "Love of beauty is taste. The creation of beauty is art." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson Thankyou everyone for your congratulations - I have passed them along to my sister and I hope that I will have pretty photos to share with you in the coming months! We are all very excited! For now - what is more romantic than lace!!? I was looking through my box of lace recently (I keep them in a box because I have ran out of places to put everything!) and I thought that my collection had grown so much in the last year that I should take some pictures! I love lace - I have definitely said it before. I have been given many beautiful pieces over the years - heirlooms from my Mum and special pieces that the lovely people I work for at Heirlooms have found for me. I have often fantasized about visiting lace shops in Europe - opening the doors and being surrounded by gorgeous pieces of lace. That would be a dream come true!! Here are some photos I have taken of a few of my favorite pieces displayed around my house. I hope you like them! I have also just finished a new drawing called 'Sparkling Pink'. I am joining these blog parties today: French Inspiration Thursday What's It Wednesday Home and Garden Thursday Drawing by Jennelise

I am one lucky girl to have a man who will let me have this girly of a bedroom for us to share. The door in this photo Leads to my Master Bathroom. I love this hutch I got it at Goodwill, it was off white gold and blue before I painted in white. Just a few of my favorite perfumes. I have like 70ish perfumes! This doll sits on the hutch I have had her since I was Little. I let you in on a little secret I did have my TV on top of this hutch. I took it down for most of the pictures though because lets face it TVs are ugly. But I need to be able to watch HGTV in bed he he. My side of the bed. I have matching Night stands, I got at Goodwill for 9.99 each they were originally a very off white and gold with brass handles. I of course painted them white. They are apart of the same set that goes with the hutch but I actually got them at different Goodwill's months apart. I Also have the Large Dresser for the set that is currently in my Guest room as well as another night stand that is a bit different for these night stands but from the same line. I have matching night stands but the miss match lamps to keep it from being over matchy. The mirrors above the night stands are also miss match but very similar. Love this little picture of my babies framed on my nightstand. I got this bench at Habitat for Humanity for 19.99 I did a post a while back on the make over. Post on bench makeover check out the link to see before pictures I found these cute little corner shelf's at Goodwill. I actually found them spread out all separate from each other individually priced, through out the store. Its hard to tell from the picture but they are largest at the bottom smallest at the top This is where Bella likes to sleep all cuddled up in the pillows. This Little lady Figure Hangs by the Entrance Door. Above the princess dog bed that rarely gets slept in, who came blame them when they can sleep in the king size bed with me! I have mentioned these curtains before (they are the same ones as in Bella & Lacie's bedroom) But let me say it again I LOVE THEM Here is the link to where you can buy them My favorite part of my bedroom is my chandelier, I have it on a dimmer which makes it even better. I purchased the chandelier at Home Depot for only 99 dollars! My headboard is actually the foot board from my mothers bed she decided not to use he-he. Eventually I will get something bigger for my huge king size bed but for now I like it. I got the netting I hung above the bed at Ikea on clearance for 2 dollars! For ages, I have been meaning to make some shabby chic bunting for my little cottage. It's not hard to DO it, just hard to find time, unfortunately. I printed out some pretty Cath Kidston patterns on printable cotton fabric (which I managed to find in NEW ZEALAND!!) and spent a happy little while cutting out little triangles and messing around with glue. I am really happy with my bunting - it looks so pretty hanging over the living room mirror. Now I have to figure out how to make some tiny fairy lights I want to make some fairy lights to drape over the ladder in the living room - they have to actually light up of course. I found this photo of some beautiful fairy lights shaped like roses - these are full sized ones but I would love something like this in miniature for the shabby cottage. I have had one try at this already but only succeeded in detaching a very important and very thin wire from the string of tiny lights I had bought. I couldn't fix them so that was the end of that attempt. Maybe it's time I tried again!
