I've been working on OSW (One Sheet Wonder) Template for 12"x12" Double-sided DSP and made sample cards for my OWH cardmaking group. I have a class tomorrow for them to create OWH card kits. I came up with this basic template to make eight cards along with several variations that you can make more out of it. You will need to first cut in 5"x12", the second cut in 5"x12" and the rest will be 2"x12". Then go by the cutting diagram. This is a draft that you will see my handwriting after many whiteouts. I will work on my computer to get nicer drawing. Tip: Punch out the focal image mat from the base layer that will be covered by dsp anyway. Hope this will give some inspiration whoever wants to try. UPDATE: Please click the template to open a new window with bigger clear picture. Thanks for stopping by!

You can search on Pinterest and find hundreds of card sketches, layouts and card making templates. It can actually become overwhelming. Design Team Member Kate is here to simplify the process for you! Here's a quick and easy "One Sheet Wonder" card making template that creates at least 11 cards.
Card #13 Card #14 I had a request to post a picture of all of these cards together so after I scheduled this post, I took a picture of 13. I've already used one but it pretty much the same layout as the first one in the second row. It was a "Thank You" card that I sent along with a customer's order. And now you have been able to see all 14 cards made from one sheet of 12 x 12 designer paper. The only wasted piece measured 1/4" x 1 1/4". In total I have done nearly 40 cards using this method. Another one was supposed to be this same set of cuts but I messed up and only got 13 cards. I have trimmed some of them a bit differently and will be posting them a little later. The third sheet I cut using a different layout for some different looks and will be showing some of them as well a little later. I hope you will think about giving this a try. It really feels good to use up some of those beautiful designer papers.
Introducing the One Sheet Wonder Challenge. The idea behind this is to use every inch of your "special" paper so that you can get your monies worth ! For the 12 x 12 paper I used for this blog you can make 11 different cards.

These were suggested layouts used for the pieces that were cut however I did make some minor changes on the ones I made. I'm just having too much fun making multiple cards from one sheet. I have chosen to embellish these differently too. Below are cards #1 and #2. Card #1 Card #2 - (Memory Box "Bella Bouquet" die) Thank you for coming by today!

Several foreign crafters, have made a set of cards, using only one sheet of patterned papter. The cards should all be different. You can use many sheets of cardstock and different embellishment, but only one sheet of patterned paper. These cards are often called "One sheet wonder". I decided to have a go, and created 16 different 10x10 cards, using only one sheet of patterned paper. Choosing a paper with nice pattern on both sides help, for these kind of projects. Here, I have used Majas new Christmas collection, I wish. The 16 different cards: I decided to post photos of the different cards in sets of two. (Thanks to Mona Nilsen, for inspiration to the Christmas tree card with the last left overs.) This is how I divided the patterned paper: Materials used:

Hello, This post is going to be longer than unlikely my usual post because there are more step-by-step photos for One Sheet Wonder (OSW) Template and Sketch Measurements. I hope you will take time to read through as I am sure you would appreciate it at the end. Now I DO like to work on sketch measurements every time when I create my cards by applying the One Sheet Wonder Template. It's not only fun but also very productive. Since I have been making cards for our Heroes and donating them to Operation Write Home, it has been always a challenge to be creative and productive at the same time. I hope what I share would help every one to meet these expectations with less hassle. Most of all, you will not end up with scraps that we all used to have and I want to keep it as my reference to check back any time. Here are steps how I started. You are welcome to take it and share it with others to make more cards for our Heroes. 12"x12" Grid Paper is a great tool to start working on the measurements. Step 1 - Cutting 5"x12", 5"x12" and 2"x12" Step 2 - Cutting 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5" and 1-1/2"x5" Step 3 - Cutting sizes as shown on the template to create various designs. Layer them on the 4"x5-1/4" sized matching colored cardstock. I played the Paper Players sketch challenge last week and HERE is my post. I worked on the measurements for this sketch and here you go. I used two sheets of 12"x12" double-sided designer series paper (dsp) so I could have four different dsp pieces. As you can see I started cutting by the step1 and the step 2 of the OSW template except the lengthwise 1/4" shorter, i.e., 3-1/2"x4-3/4" so that it will fit in the layering cardstock sized 4"x5-1/4". Because there is a space in between dsp pieces. Step 1 - Cutting 4-3/4"x12", 4-3/4"x12" and 2-1/2"x12" Step 2 - Cutting 3-1/2"x4-3/4", 3-1/2"x4-3/4", 3-1/2"x4-3/4"and 1-1/2"x5" This is the step 3 of OSW template for this particular sketch challenge and layered on the matching colored cardstock. All what you need to do is adding the sentiment of your choice. Also I played Freshly Made Sketches #88 and here is my card to enter. I love how it turned out. I used one sheet of 12"x12" double-sided dsp and it was easier to coordinate dsp pieces by cutting the measurements that I came up with. You can make 6 identical cards and 3 in different layouts. This is Freshly Made Sketches #88 and my measurements next to it. Step 1 - Cutting 5"x12", 5"x12" and 2"x12" Step 2 - Cutting 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5", 3-1/2"x5"and 1-1/2"x5" Step 3 - Cutting 2-1/4"x5", 3/4"x5" and 1/2"x5". Step 4 to 6 - Layering on the 4"x5-1/4" sized matching colored cardstock. Focal image measurements. Whew... thanks for your patience with me. I need a big hug, too. Thanks for stopping by!

I've been wanting to create a One Sheet Wonder Template to make 4 cards from a 6 x 6 inch piece of DSP. This allows me to make a R2G Card kit with one sheet of 12x12 inches DSP. Well here it is! Again, it makes the most of the DSP with very little waste. The 4" square is cut corner to corner creating 2 triangles. Note: The 1/2 inch accent strip for the card with a triangle needs to be at least 6" long. The card layouts allow for wide and/or tall ones. The DSP can be placed on the left or right hand sides of the card when placing the rectangular pieces. Check the next posting for the cards I created with this OSW Template.

I created a one sheet wonder file on Design Studio using Plantin Schoolbook based on the template by Scrapoholic on the Cricut messageboard and cut 2 pieces of patterned cardstock and 2 bazzil card. Some of the cutting lines are out of the boundary but they are easily cut with a pair of scissors. Then I made a whopping 28 cards with all the cuts! I tried to make many of the cards both normal and tent fold so they would be more versatile and I left room on most of the cards to stamp a sentiment later as the cards are needed. I used a couple of the layouts from Scrapoholic, but most of these ended up my own design so I could make as many cards as possible. I also embossed some of the plain card and only used 2 packets of flowers to keep the cost down. Feel free to use the cut files and scraplift card layouts for your personal use only. Link photos of your cards here so I can see them. Click here for the Design Studio File Click here for the Gypsy File
A great way to use your pretty papers I will be sharing with you a super cool way to make cards using your pretty papers to the max. There are many ways of using these "One Sheet Wonder" templates and surely you could find many. I went ahead and made one of my own and I am loving it. What is 'One Sheet Wonder' One Sheet Wonders are just templates that show you how to cut your pretty papers -usually sized 12" x 12"- in order to make several cards or projects with it. OSW Template 1 Why ONE, because I plan to keep making more. These are so easy to use and REALLY help when you want to make many cards. :) On the one below I suggest you starts by: 1. Cut your paper lengthwise on three columns of 4" x 12" 2. Then cut your column on the left at 4"…you will end with three 4" x 4" squares. 3. Cut your center column as shown from top t bottom. 4. Cut your right column as shown from top to bottom. Left cards: I used the 4" x 51/4" Middle card: I used the 4" x 5 1/2" Right card:One of the 4" x 4" Top Left: I used the 1" x 6 1/2" but I cut to length Bottom left: I used the 4" x 1 1/2" Right: Both used the 4" x 4" pieces Here I showed the snowman I die cut from the top cards To the right my 3- 2" x 2" squares :) The Snow Place stamp set Bundle is amazing! To make our class easier I stamped and place the corresponding framelit on top of the image. Each of my friends LOVED making this set as a gift. Full Wide Stamp Cases are In! Did you check yesterday's post. You SHOULD! It has the embellished wood stamp case I we cased all these cards plus envelopes. Ready with a gift for a loved one, using what I have in my stash. Yay!
