Designed in the Art Deco style of the period, this Iconic bridge opened in 1937 and was the longest suspension bridge for decades! The steel was provisionally painted in International Orange as an undercoat to prevent rusting, then adopted as the final color. As the bridge designer remarked: It is an appropriately bold color for a bold design! As the bridge ages, and acquires a patina, it remains a testament to ingenuity and excellence if design and civic engineering. The model was designed using original drawings and blueprints obtained from the GGBridge Authority in San Francisco. Measures 10'-6" long, x 20" high, and is designed to go together in 5 sections. All handmade to order here in San Francisco, CA. Scale is 1in 42’ Please contact store for more details! Thank you!
