View Bee in My Bonnet Pin Cushion Tutorial Here ********** Tools Needed: 1.Pie tin, or similar container for the bottom of the Pin Cushion 2. Material for the top of the Pin Cushion 3. Fiberfill for the stuffing 4. Pellets or Silica to weigh down the tin (and small baggie to put the pellets in.) 5. Hot glue gun 6. Needle and thread Instructions: First, take the container you will be using for the Pin Cushion and measure the width. Double the measurement of the container and cut out a circle in the material that will be the top of your Pin Cushion! Tip: If you have a small plate or ruler that is similar in size, it is excellent to use this as a guide to trace. Next, after you have the material cut out, we are going to hand baste loose stitches around the edge of the material. This is going to leave the thread loose enough to pull into a loose bag shape. Make sure to pack the "bag" full of fiberfill, and pull the thread tight, creating the top to your pincushion! At this point, fill a small bag with pellets or sand and place in the bottom of your container, creating the weight for your Pin Cushion. Line the rim of the container with hot glue, placing the cushion top in place, and gently applying pressure for 10 - 15 seconds while the glue sets. ********* Ruthie picked a beautiful, delicate antique porcelain sugar bowl for her pin cushion project!
