I wanted to share a little history (below) of the fuzzy dice since this is the project I am presenting here from “cut out & keep”. The founder of “cut out & keep” Cat Morley is sharing this…
V2 *2 fm i varje m* (12) Gör 1 sm i nästa m.

Today I going to show off. Show what off? My crochet baubles! I think they look good although I made them for the first time in my life. I starched them in the sugar syrup and with Bogusia’s advice I varnished them. I used acrylic varnish spray which I have at home and generally use for my salt dough angels. They are ready! I didn’t use too many decorations for them, because in my opinion they look pretty without them. I like the white ones best. From the other colours the yellow is amazing (my children said that). The picture doesn’t show exactly how beautiful they are. I’ll start with the ones I made first (which are also the ones that don’t look that great). Do usztywniania używam balonów. Wkładam balonik do środka i wypełniam go powietrzem. I would like to share a few patterns with you for some of my crochet baubles. Remember, you need to make each one twice and when you’ve finished the second you try to join them together (using crochet). I starch them by blowing up a balloon inside of the bauble, then starch them to the balloon and wait for them to dry so as they are a nice round shape. When they’ve dried, just pop the balloons and delicately take them out. Mam dla was propozycję. Dziś przypomnę wam tą pierwszą ( Ciekawe czy ktoś z was rozpozna znane głosy). Przyłączcie się do zabawy! I have a proposition for you. Maybe it’s not yet the time for Christmas carols, but what do you think of showing us your favourite Christmas song. One that’s best for listening to when you’re washing the windows or chopping onions. This my proposition for the whole of next week. I am very interested in what do you like to listen to. Ok. I am the first. For me, for many years my best winter season song is Last Christmas –performed by George Michael and Wham. I love this song! From polish songs I like the funny songs about carp (carp is a traditional Christmas fish that you eat on Christmas Eve). Reporters on the polish radio from programme three perform these songs. They sing these songs for Charity. Today I’ll show you the first of these songs (Christmas 2000). Join in the fun! A tu najnowsza fotka z ogrodu. And here’s a new picture from my garden.

The TAST stitch for week 11 is whipped wheel. I repeated a woven and whipped wheel I stitched on a crazy ornament a few years ago. It was a present for a quilting friend, so I only had a photo to see how I did it. I couldn’t find my notes (I had no journal at the time), but when I started stitching I remembered how I stitched it. First I drew 3 circles with a water soluble pen on my rust dyed fabric. The sizes are 3, 2 and 1 cm. This template made it very easy. I used a DMC broder special for my wheel. First I made 8 spokes from the outmost circle to the centre. Then 8 spokes between them from the outmost circle to the 1 cm circle. And finally 16 spokes between those from the outmost circle to the 2 cm circle. I started with a whipped wheel. When the first circle was filled with whipped stitches I switched to woven stitches. If you’re not familiar with the woven wheel, you can find a tutorial in Sharon’s stitch dictionary. Start weaving under the new spokes to keep the stitches in place. I know they always say you need an odd number of spokes with a woven wheel, but with a simple trick you can use an even number. After completing every round, just go under 2 spokes instead of 1 and continue weaving the normal way. This shifts one spoke every round and is not visible when the wheel is finished. After a few rounds I switched to whipped spokes again until I finished the second circle. Then I made a few rounds of woven stitches and finished it with whipped stitches. I hope to share a photo of my sampler tomorrow, it’s still wet after removing the water soluble pen.

I'm so excited to finally be able to share this amazing technique on how I made the folded stars. Please know right off this is not my pattern, and the tutorial is to show you how easy it is to use the template to make them. I received permission by Plum Easy to give instructions on my blog. For the full pattern and template with cutting instructions just visit my shop. Here is what you need~ Plum Easy Folded Star Pattern and Template (the pattern comes with 1 template, and you can also get packs of 3 templates) 1 small square 4 small dark colored squares turned into prairie points 8 large light colored squares turned into prairie points 8 large dark colored squares turned into prairie points 8 large light colored squares turned into prairie points glue stick rotary cutter and ruler steam iron (for making the prairie points) To make the prairie points fold it in half once, wrong sides together and press. Then fold the two corners to the middle and press with steam so it stays in place. Add a little glue to the wrong side of small square and place in the middle square section of he pattern. Add a little glue to the back side corner of the small prairie point. Set in place in between the 45% angle lines (you can move and adjust if you need). Continue with the 3 other small prairie points by adding glue to the back side corners and then setting in place. Now for layer number 2. Add some glue on the back side of one of your light large prairie points. Place the first one on the layer 2 line on the 45 degree angle line. Add some glue to the second prairie point and place it on the layer 2 line and the 90 degree angle line. Continue adding glue to the corners of your prairie points and place around the circle as pictured above. For Layer number 3, start in the same place as you did with layer number 2 and continue going around the circle adding all the prairie points. Add layer number 4 the same way you added layer number 2 and 3. After you have all your layers in place take it over to the machine and top stitch by stitching in the ditch. Top stitch each section of your 8 points. Use 4 scrap triangles larger than the corners and stitch right sides together. Then iron seams to one side as it is really thick. Trim up your block with your rotary cutter and ruler and then you are all done!! You can now make that into a potholder or keep going and make a pillow. :) My 4 folded stars. All done with my pretty pillow!! Yeah!! I added Annie's Farm Stand, Seed Catalogue for a border, some yellow crochet trim, and Annie's Farm Stand Mini Rosie for the binding. The back, Atusko Matsuyama's Spring Bouquets in pink & Tasha's, Little Red Riding Hoods Stripe in Red. I quilted the pillow by top stitching around each star. This is one thick and comfy pillow! :) I hope everyone is having a lovely Spring week!! We've had the most lovely weather and have really been enjoying it!! :)
