However, in low lighting the wood will take on more light tan yellow-brown/very faint peach color; particularly in rooms with warm lighting or warm colors reflecting off darker surfaces. It does reflect back the color of the light hitting it. If it is in a shadow or not well lit it will be darker in color. But it will always have some soft tan/yellow-brown/very paint peach tones, minor grain streaks, and coloring. This is a natural high quality wood product, so if you want something white and sterile, look for a white painted product or ask us for a custom order. • Blues are brighter in daylight and more navy in soft white (yellower) interior lighting or if our photo is taken near sunset. We invented our own methods for this years ago by laser cutting and only partially pearlescent resin infilling the water areas to create the edge curved, beautiful surface, rather than filled to the surface and sanding the resin. This leaves a beautiful mirrored surface reminiscent of a mirrored lake in still air.. After perfecting our own technique, we were the very first seller on etsy to offer such detailed wood lake maps using resin for the water layer, getting our start on etsy when the only offerings were stained or painted boards for the water layer. Thomas is a lifelong boater and outdoor enthusiast, and his designs tend to focus primarily on the water features as a boater or fishing enthusiast sees them. Interested in more details? more below. Our design: • White maple wood with boldly contrasting dark brown graphics • Pre-designed title graphics - or describe your own • Your lake map is precision laser cut and engraved with an industrial Class IV CO2 laser • The design is 2-levels, with a lower blue resin filled water level for a two layer dimensional effect Color effects of lighting: • We use white maple, and a clear satin finish to protect the wood • Because maple is a 'white' wood it will look whiter in daylight. However, in low lighting the wood will take on more light tan yellow-brown/very faint peach color; particularly in rooms with warm lighting or warm colors reflecting off darker surfaces. It does reflect back the color of the light hitting it. If it is in a shadow or not well lit it will be darker in color. But it will always have some soft tan/yellow-brown/very paint peach tones, minor grain streaks, and coloring. This is a natural high quality wood product, so if you want something white and sterile, look for a white painted product or ask us for a custom order. • Blues are brighter in daylight and more navy in soft white (yellower) interior lighting or if our photo is taken near sunset. Also cameras cannot capture certain subtle green-tinged blue colors. In addition how you have your computer monitor set or how you phone displays colors can vary greatly. About our handmade frames: • Our own frames are cut from NHLA prime or super prime premium 4/4 wood, the beauty of which you can see in the photos. We inspect and hand pick every board from a local family business. • They are then ripped to size, thickness planed, routed, and sanded. • The frames are miter cut, then joined using PVA glue and a professional framing v-nailer to insert metal angles. Our Guarantee We know that it is hard to visualize how your lake will come across in this media. Due to that uncertainty, by our permanent shop policy we provide a 100% refund if you change your mind anytime before or at the design approval stage, when you see the final detailed design and we are green-lighted to move forward.
