Longyear's novella was originally published in the September 1979 issue of Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine. It would win the Hugo award for Best Novella before being picked up by Twentieth Century Fox. The film nearly didn't make it. After spending $9M the studio was unhappy with the results. After agreeing to wait until he had finished 'Never Ending Story', Petersen stepped in and with actors Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr produced a touching film that examines how two enemies, thrust together, can become the closest of friends. It is a super film. One to watch if you are a sci-fi fan and haven't yet come across it. This poster has never been folded and is in superb condition.
