Letter Confusion or reversals particularly of tricky letters b and d and p and q are common as children are first learning to read and write. There are plenty "tricks" to help children learn how to differentiate between these letters. I came up with another silly idea. A couple of drawing nights and voila! My kids really like it And were able to recognize who is who pretty fast:) Hopefully it can be useful for some of u as well.

Are your students struggling to differentiate b and d or p and q? This poster teaches them a trick and provides scaffolding until they are able to identify each letter. You can ask your student what comes first? The bat or the donut; the pencil or the quarter?
