*** Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! *** This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is an anything goes challenge. I used the new Twiggy Florets set along with my Copic markers to create this easy to mail punny card for the challenge. I stamped the flower pot first, then masked it with a sticky note and added the pair of flowers and a single leaf. I colored the images with my Copic markers, adding a little shading underneath the flower pot. The colors I used for the flowers feel a little fall-like to me, but I like how they look with the flower pot. One of the set's sentiments was stamped just next to the flower pot in black ink. To balance the design, I punched half a circle from olive green cardstock and adhered the piece to the left side of the panel. It was accented with a pair of copper brads. I adhered the finished panel to a kraft card base. Don’t miss what the rest of the SPARKS team has created this week. Here’s where to find them: Katie Larissa Lori--you're here! Lynn Savannah Materials Used: Twiggy Florets stamp set (Paper Smooches); Memento Tuxedo Black ink (IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko); markers (Copic); Old Olive cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Kraft cardstock (WPlus9); circle punch (EK Success); copper brads (Making Memories)

Hello there! Well I'm back with another make. I am still going through some of my old stamp sets and of course some of my faves are Paper Smooches. The 'Vegtastic' stamp set is just so cute, I used it in my last post with the carrot card. At least with this stamp set you are getting one of your five a day! Without further ado do here we are... What you need... Stamps: Vegtastic - Paper Smooches Embossing folder: Swiss Dots - Cricut Ink pads: Extreme Black - My Favorite Things Sea Breeze - VersaMagic Alcohol markers: Nile Green G07, Apple Green G14, Green Bice YG01, New Leaf YG23, Sugared Almond Pink RV02, Tender Pink RV13 - Copic Gel Pen: Signo White Broad (UM-153) - Uni-ball Dimensional medium: Glossy Accents - Ranger Card stock: White, Pale Aqua Masking paper: Stamping Mask Paper - Inkadinkado What you do... 1 Stamp the peas onto white card stock with the little heart above. Stamp the images again onto masking paper and cut out. Lay the masks over the original stamped image. 2 Use a blending tool to blend the Sea Breeze ink around the images and remove the masks. 3 Colour in the images and add the sentiment underneath. Trim the image to 7.5cm square. 4 Emboss a 10cm square piece of white card with the Swiss Dots. 5 Cover a 12cm square blank with pale aqua card. Then layer the embossed panel followed by the stamped panel. 6 Add some highlights to the heart, pod and peas with gel pen, apply Glossy Accents and allow to dry. I did notice that the Glossy Accents can affect the gel pen a little, so you need to be careful when applying it that you don't move it around too much, but you can't really notice on the card. I still have quite a few rainbow themed cards to post up, but I'm trying to spread them out a little so you are not overloaded! I'm going to sign off for now and have a coffee and maybe a shortbread or two (yum) whilst enjoying the sun in the conservatory. Plus I can see what the chickens are up to! Thank you for popping by and I'll be back soon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

*** Scroll down to the post below or click HERE to see my card for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! *** This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Designer Draft challenge. I used the sketch to put together this nautical themed design that's perfect for summertime. I turned the sketch's long rectangular panel into a watery scene. For the background, I die cut a strip of dark blue paper with one of the Borders 2 dies to look like waves, then adhered it to a chevron patterned paper panel. The scene is topped with the sailboat image from the Wicked Nauticool stamp set. I colored the image with Copic markers, then used the matching Nauticool die to cut it out. A white cloud, die cut with the cloud from the Spectrum Icons set rounded out the scene. I adhered the scene to a kraft card base with a strip of red cardstock along the bottom. The "waving hello" sentiment was stamped beneath the tilted panel in black ink. Don’t miss what the rest of the SPARKS team has created this week. Here’s where to find them: Katie Larissa Lori--you're here! Happy Friday to all! I'm back with this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge: CFC82: Use creative scoring on your clean and simple project And the sponsor for this challenge is none other than Scor-Pal! The winner of this week's challenge will receive her very own Scor-Buddy! Yayness! I love the look of decorative/creative scoring on cards, I just wish I could remember to use it more often! For this challenge, I racked my brain trying to think of clever ways to incorporate scoring, but nothing was clicking. Then I decided to put to paper a card idea I've been mulling over in my head, and it hit me! And now for the paper yummy: So, this card was inspired by the little game piece stamp from the Paper Smooches Knick Knacks set. It looks just like the game piece from the board game "Sorry!". So I stamped it in each of the four colors from the game, then created the word "Sorry!" using the Alphadot stamp set. Then I used my Scor-Pal to create a grid pattern around the edges of the card, to simulate a game board. I added some Glossy Accents to the game pieces to finish off the card: How will you even the score? You have until next Thursday at noon EST to play along with this week's challenge, and I hope you do! Thanks for looking! Supplies: card stock: Stampin' Up! (white), Recollections (black); stamps: Paper Smooches; inks: TPC Studio (red, blue, yellow, green), Tsukineko (black); Glossy Accents: Ranger; scoring board: Scor-Pal

ANYTHING GOES MAY 4-10 Pop Up Explosion Box Card! This card was made for the Anything Goes Challenge at Paper Smooches I have been wanting to try the box card technique and thought it paired nicely with the Great Chemistry stamp set from Paper Smooches. When you open the flaps of the card this is what you see first. The images have been fussy cut and colored with Copics. Glossy Accents, Crackle and Wink of Stella were used on the glass bottles. A few of the the pieces were attached with acetate. The "mad scientist" is on a wobble and his eyes also wiggle! This is the back of the card when it's closed! Thanks for looking! Happy Sunday, all! =) Here is a card that I made using some fun stamps and dies from Paper Smooches . I had fun making this one! =) ...
Hi everyone! I'm sorry for dropping off the planet for a few weeks. I've been in the middle of writing a grant for a state that has been pretty all-consuming. I thought I would share some Paper Smooches projects, and the Season's Givings winners are below. :) First up, a rose card set: This card required *a lot* of die-cutting. ;) But once I made 17 passes through the die-cutter, I had enough pieces to make more than one card set and the process moved quickly. This technique was a great way to use up scraps of patterned paper. I used the gorgeous Paper Smooches Roses Dies and in-laid patterned paper die-cuts--mostly American Crafts papers. For the sentiments, I stamped four different sentiments from the Uplifters set. Here's a close-up: I packaged the set of four cards for my mother-in-law. For the tag, I used the Paper Smooches Gift Tags 2 die, the Tiny Hearts Die [Aren't those hearts cute? They're only $1.99!], and one of the leaves from the Roses Dies. The sentiment is from Group Hugs. Next up, I have a second floral card: The roses are from the Paper Smooches Lovely Thoughts stamp set. I did some two-step stamping and added a bit of shading using Copics (although if I redid the card, I would have used colored pencils). See the cool background? It's embossed using the Retro Arrow die. Here's a close-up: Want to hear the winners of the Season's Givings blog hop? [Drumroll....] The winners are: Prize 1: Rachel Prize 2: Shona Chambers Yeah Rachel and Shona! Please drop me an e-mail at my contact information (the tab on the header). Thanks to everyone for your very sweet comments. You all are so nice! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

Hi everyone. Time for the May CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. This time we are looking for CAS cards which feature die-cuts or punches. Today I'm sharing a card made with mostly die-cuts. I die-cut the branch and leaves, adding dimension to them with some sponging and shaping. I've done a short video tutorial on how I add depth and dimension to die-cut leaves by sponging ink and using my stylus and mat. Click on the video link below ... or click HERE to watch it on YouTube. Please give it a thumbs up if you found it informative ... thank you! :) Click on PLAY button below to watch video tutorial: _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ I fussy-cut two small baby birds (coloured with Copics), and have them peeking out of their nest perched on the tree branch. The nest is made with a grapevine wreath die-cut. I cut it up into sections and layered it on top of each other to get the general shape of the nest. I added a few strokes of dark brown from my marker to give the nest some colour, and then glued little bits of flower soft on top (white flower soft dyed with brown re-inker), to give it even more texture. Fun and easy to do. This month I'm excited to welcome Bonnie (Stamping with Klass) as our Guest Designer. Bonnie loves to make CAS cards and is an avid supporter of HLS. She is so talented, and I have learned a lot from following her blog. I hope you'll take some time to look around Bonnie's blog ... you'll be glad you did! :) I hope you'll join us for this fun challenge. Make sure to have die-cuts or punches on your CAS card, and then add your link to the challenge. I'll be back throughout the month, highlighting different ways to use die-cuts and punches on your cards. There's also a DT call over at the Happy Little Stamper's blog. Three calls in fact ... one for the Sketch challenge, and one for the CAS challenge ... and one for the new Christmas challenge that will be starting at HLS in July. We hope to see lots of entries for these fun Design Teams ... come join in! :) This is also a reminder for the current challenge at Mixed Media Card Challenge - Wings. And I'm entering it into Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes, CAS-ology #144 - Flight, and ATS&M - #142 Make Your Mark. Hey there! Happy Sunday! Today I am back with another card that is being shared today on the MarkerPOP blog! I am so thrilled to be guest designing with them this month. I've had so much fun! For my card today, I used the Mama Elephant Playful Pup stamp set and the Sew Fancy Frames to create my little scene. The little clouds are the Paper Smooches Cute Clouds dies, and the Grassy Border dies are by Lawn Fawn. I love making cards where I can mix and match my favorite companies! The great thing is, MarkerPOP carries products from all of these companies, and tons more!! To create the cloud background, I used the Mama Elephant Landscape dies. I used the cloud die from that die set to cut a piece of clear acetate, then I used distress ink and an ink blending tool to sponge ink just along the very edge of the cloud before moving the stencil and repeating. It is so easy it creates such a fun background! :) I want to thank the gang over at MarkerPOP for having me this month! It's been so much fun! :) Have a great day!! Thanks for stopping by! Supplies: Stamps: Mama Elephant Playful Pups Dies: Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Frames, Mama Elephant Landscape Trio, Paper Smooches Cute Clouds, Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Tumbled Glass, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters Distress Ink Other: Copic Markers, Foam Tape

Hey, hey everyone! I hope you are having a great weekend! I am popping by today to share the card I created for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge. This week is an Anything Goes challenge and continuing my personal quest to share the love and use among my stamps, I decided to use Needle Little Love on this week's card. Before I found paper crafting, cross-stitch was my craft of choice, though I lacked the patience and follow-through to complete anything other than small samplers and the occasional Christmas ornament. Still Home Economics was one of my very favorite classes in middle school, so this set makes me all kinds of nostalgic for my bygone hobby. I cut some squares from aida cloth (aka cross-stitch cloth) and trimmed the edges with some pinking shears that I held on to from my sewing days. Next I stamped the sweet images from Needle Little Love on the squares. I did some very simple masking with the thread spools and the flower in the bottom left corner. I stamped the sentiment and couple small hearts from the set. Then I added a strip of patterned paper and some twine topped off with a pretty button and a twine bow. So now it's your turn! You have until 11:59 PT on Saturday, July 12 to link up your take on this week's challenge to the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog for a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Paper Smooches store. Woot woot! Be sure to check out the amazing inspiration from the other members of the SPARKS design team playing along with this week's challenge: Larissa Heskett Lori Tecler Lynn Mangan Savannah O'Gwynn I can't wait to see what you create!
