I taught another Parchment Craft class over the weekend. I thought I would post up the cards we made with some basic instructions. I use 36# vellum with I purchase from Sweet Impressions stamps. I stamp the images with white dye ink and on some of the cards I heat embossed them with Detail White embossing powder. The next step is to dry emboss on the back of the vellum. Just follow the outline of the image and then add fill where needed. This first card is very basic, I stamped the Cutwork Rose #7011 with white dye ink onto the vellum. Once it was dry, I dry embossed from the reverse side. A great tip, rub wax paper over the reverse side of the vellum to make your embossing tool glide easier. I added a Rainbow paper panel behind the image before sliding it into the corner punches. Easy Peasy! The next card Poinsettia Candle #7065 has 2 versions, one is just dry embossing, the second is dry embossed and then colored with Memento markers. I did heat emboss these with white Detail embossing powder after stamping. It just makes the image a little crisper. Now onto the fun part. We did some cutting using the 4-Split Perforating Tool. Talk about a Wow factor! For this first card, I stamped Simple Frame #435, Merry Christmas Large #956 and heat embossed with white Detail embossing powder. On a separate sheet of vellum, I stamped and heat embossed Poinsettia large 7032 and Simple Poinsettia 7068. We dry embossed the frame, following the entire outline and then filling in the wide border. We also dry embossed the poinsettias, colored them with Memento markers and then cut them out with the perforating tool. Be sure to click on the images for a closer look. I like the last card the best. This uses Filigree Frame #426 and Fancy Flower Large 2 #451, Fancy Flower Med 2 #453, Large Fancy Leaf #462 and Small Fancy Leaf #463. These were only stamped with white dye ink, no heat embossing this time. The flowers and leaves were stamped on a separate piece of vellum and once again cut out using the 4 Split Perforating tool. You can purchase all the supplies you need for these cards from Sweet Impressions stamps. Be sure to check out the video of Stacey making a lovely embossed bride card. Thanks for stopping by.

Parchment Craft Card Roses Parchment Craft Card Roses My new found love is parchment craft. If you haven't tried it do try it- you just might fall in love with it like I did. Parchment craft is delicate and the texture is simply unbelievable.Photos don't do enough justice to the craft! Parchment Craft is actually a very ancient craft but when I saw a parchment craft starter kit in a local shop I had no idea what this craft was and just had to try it! . The design is actually a free pattern from the very talented Amanda. How to Make a Parchment Craft Card Materials Required Parchment Paper- this is special paper which looks translucent.Mostly available as white but other shades are also there. White Ink Embossing pad Sticky tape [not very sticky!] Parchment Craft Card Materials Required Special Tracing Pen Embossing Tool Needle tool Parchment Craft Instruments Steps to create a Parchment Craft Card 1. Chose a pattern. There are so many generous people sharing free patterns specifically for parchment craft on the net. Place the parchment paper on the pattern and stick using sticky tape you have stuck to cloth at least 2 times and pulled off so that its not too sticky[ parchment paper tears easily and if your tape is too sticky you can tear it while removing it off the pattern. 2.Trace over the pattern using the nib pen dipped in white ink.Apply only light pressure and a thin line is enough. Parchment Craft Card Tracing Pattern 3.Remove the parchment paper from the paper and place it on the embossing pad.Embossing is done from the backside of the design you had traced. Emboss the outlines gently.Light repeated strokes is the key to success in this craft as you can easily tear the paper if too much pressure is applied. Parchment Craft Card Embossing 4.Emboss your pattern area by area using your ball tipped embossing tool.Do it bit by bit with repeated light strokes. As your embossing progresses your parchment paper changes to a lovely milky white. The more you emboss the more thinner the paper becomes and the more white the design becomes. Parchment Craft Card Embossing 5.Piercing:For some designs such as in the card I have made - use the needle tool to remove areas of the pattern. The needle tool is used from the front of the parchment paper and done by placing the paper on a firm surface such as your cutting mat.Pierce the holes close together and gently remove the paper from the desired area. Parchment craft Tutorial Finally mount your card on a background. Parchment Craft Card Roses Parchment craft is a delicate craft. My 5 year old daughter likes to try anything I do and insisted she help me emboss. We could do it with me holding her hand but good god it required so much care and we did manage to tear it in a tiny spot !!I had to complete this card over so many days as I could do it only when little helper was asleep! Hope you guys found my little contribution helpful.
I usually design pattern by myself, the works of "Freehand Embossing" haven't trace with anything only emboss.Emboss the pattern inside the small frame only 3~5 minutes, haven't trace with anything. It is quickly and beautiful.
