When there are two actions in the past, with one being interrupted, it's crucial to identify which action was interrupted. This distinction is important because for the action that was interrupted, the past continuous (-ing form) is used. The action that caused the interruption is expressed using the past simple (-ed form). For instance, consider a scenario where two actions took place in the past: riding a bike and seeing somebody. Think about which action lasted longer and was "interrupted" by another action. In this case, it is the "riding a bike" action - "I was riding a bike when I saw my friend." Seeing a friend was a short, quick action compared to the ongoing action of "riding a bike." #study #learn #grow #English #lesson #education
