Scotland was once so densely covered in trees that it's said that you could walk from coast to coast without ever seeing much of the sky. But the Great Caledonian Forest was accidentally wiped out by a race of friendly giants who misguidedly uprooted all of the trees and took them home during an unfortunate bonsai craze. This event is recreated in the picture above. This photo has now been seen quite widely across the internet and enjoyed worldwide by many who like a little bit of forced perspective now and again. It's usually posted by people who are polite enough to ask permission first. That most reprehensible of UK newspapers, The Daily Mail, on the other hand, used this picture without so much as a 'by your leave' or any hint of a sniff of the merest possibility of some kind of payment. Those giants will be around shortly to do some serious industrial origami in metal with the printing presses.
