This is a Kardorama Ltd postcard printed and published in Great Britain. It shows a bird’s eye view of Piccadilly Circus looking north with the new Centre Point building in the distance. This is late June 1968 and the James Bond film, “Goldfinger” is showing for a couple of weeks at the London Pavilion before being joined by “Thunderball” in a joint James Bond programme in early July. “Goldfinger had been released in September 1964 and was first shown at the Odeon Leicester Square and over the next eighteen months was shown at the Leicester Square Theatre, The Berkeley, The Gala Royal and the Odeon Haymarket. The Stanley Kubrick film, 2001, A Space Odyssey had been showing at the Casino Cinerama since mid-April.
