This pattern is written in U.S. terminology. A sweet, sleek Dragon ready to take off into the sky... right after they cuddle with you for one more minute! The effect is amigurumi-like, though there are some distinct techniques used that are not used in single crochet-only amigurumi. The gauge is not crucial to the pattern as long as the stitches are tight enough to hold stuffing. Includes options for ornamentation that you can use to create your own unique Dragon! The perfect toy for a girl or boy, young or old! This dragon is free standing and poseable. It uses one package of 18g paper wrapped floral craft wire (Stiff/strong wire, not soft wire) to create a simple spine for the dragon's body which allows for the head to be moveable, and it lines the edge of the wings which allows them to be poseable as well. The adornments are all optional and as such you can create your own unique dragon every time. This pattern is 105 pages long. The last 31 pages of the PDF are a text-only printer-friendly version of the pattern. To conserve on printer ink, you can selectively print these pages. However, I strongly recommend you still refer to the photographic illustrations throughout the pattern if you have any questions. Knitters who have made their fair share of garter stitch scarves, ribbed hats and stockinette sweaters, will understand the hankering to shake things up a bit. I love the rhythm and certainty of the basic stitches, but every now and then I relish the challenge of stitch patterns that unfold in surprising ways, that teach me yet something else about the wondrous potential of knits and purls! I've done a lot of knitting in my life, so much that I sometimes wonder if there are any stones left unturned, but this Stitch Block Cowl took me into new terrain. I've knit colorwork and I've knit "in the row below", but I've never done the two together. It's terrifically easy and proves, once again, that knitting is inexhaustibly interesting.
