Fortificação medieval que é o monumento mais emblemático da cidade. A sua Torre de Menagem, com quase 40 metros de altura, é considerada por alguns autores como a torre militar mais alta do país. O Castelo de Beja, nomeadamente a sua Torre de Menagem, é o monumento mais conhecido e emblemático da cidade. Trata-se de uma fortaleza gótica, cuja construção teve início no século XIII, logo após a conquista cristã da cidade, prolongando-se pelos séculos XIV e, possivelmente, XV. Destacando-se do conjunto da fortaleza, ergue-se a imponente Torre de Menagem, com quase quarenta metros de altura, considerada por alguns especialistas como uma obra-prima da arquitectura militar gótica europeia.
