Designed by Judy PagelsOoooh – collaboration! One of those undertakings full of opportunity and creativity. Frabjous Fibers/Wonderland Yarns sent Schacht a box of fiber and yarn goodness. This wonderful Vermont company has an abundant line of hand-dyed yarns and fibers, including fair trade yarns and other delights. I was instantly drawn to the colors and textures of yarn and fiber and the promise of enjoying a project yet-to-be. I selected two braids of Organic Polwarth Wool Top and one magical skein of Unicorn Luxury Silk Mohair Blend.Such luck! A chance to spin and weave – but what? I knew that the warp would be the handspun and the weft the Unicorn yarn. Beyond that, the project was still unknown. Time to ponder that while spinning.Project SpecsFinished size: 45" x 11"Weave structure: plain weave with handspun yarn and commercially spun weftWarp length: 84" (includes 36" for hems, take-up, shrinkage, and loom waste)Number of warp ends: 65Width in reed: 14.5"EPI: 5PPI: 5

Hello my dear friends, as crafters we all seem to hold on to bits and pieces like little leftover scraps of fabric, lace, cut up or old torn doilies, old buttons, tarnished safety pins. You name it, we save it. We do it because as I once said before ... 'you never know' and this is one of those 'you never know' times. Do you remember my 'Once Upon A Time' creation? I used a blouse I bought in a thrift store for the part of Cinderella's dress. It was such a lovely fabric and color and I had the rest of the blouse leftover so I just had to come up with an idea to use it for and even if it were only a small piece of it and I did. The piece I decided to use was the sleeve cuff ~ it was a very neat one with a frill on it. And this is what I turned it into ... ... a needle book. There are many photos to share with you but only few words ~ I hope you don't mind but sometimes I just like it that way. I love thinking of creations that are made from leftovers. It is such a neat thing to see all this 'stuff' laying in front of you, almost thrown together and then after a while this creation appears right in front of you. Almost like a little bit of ... magic! I hope this has brought a little joy to you because it has to me. It would be so nice if you would stop by here at Todolwen from time to time and pay me a visit. I hope you are well and life is treating you kind my dear friends. Have a peaceful and creative day, Karen B.

This is a DIGITAL PATTERN, not a finished physical object. You will receive a pdf file with instructions on how to craft this top yourself. This pattern will require BOTH knitting and crocheting. If you want to modify it to be for just one or the other, you can message me and I'll help you, but please note that this pattern is intended to be made using both. Welcome to the Nereid Top! This 12-page, made-to-measure pattern will guide you in making this sea fairy top with knitted body and arms, and crochet accents. It is flexible in terms of size and can also be modified to have short sleeves. The top is made in three parts: torso/body, and two sleeves, which are then attached to the body and finished off with a crochet border and an i-cord bow. Please message me on Instagram (@beauumeadow) or email me at michxcao [!at] gmail.com if you have any questions. Happy making--I'd love to see any finished projects as well! <3

¡Te animo a probarlas!
