Make One Up for Every Season And Another to Give to a Quilt Lover! Your favorite combination of fabrics will make an impact in this easy table runner. Choose a charm pack for squares of fabric that already work well together or dig into your stash and coordinate them yourself. This runner is so easy …
Breaking away from the usual written quilt labels is simpler than you think. Use your daydreaming power, pencil and paper, and hand/machine stitching.
Mix and match fun hairstyles and cute outfits to make the paper dolls in this super fun and easy quilt. It’s a great way to feature scraps from favorite fabrics. Or use fabric from a child’s outgrown clothes to make an extra special memory quilt! The pattern is so much more than just a pattern. It’s really an appliqué workshop disguised as a pattern. :-) If you know how to use your sewing machine, you can make this cuddly paper dolls quilt! There are links to videos teaching you three different appliqué techniques – needle turn, machine appliqué, and appliqué with fusible adhesive – and the pattern includes pieces laid out special to work with printable products. Skip the tracing and jump right to the fun part! I used appliqué with fusible adhesive and Quilt As You Go to make a super easy quilt – almost all done on the machine. The only handwork was the final step of the binding. That’s my favorite part to do by hand because it gives me some lap time with my new quilt. :-) Each doll is just under 9 1/2 inches tall (that's to the top of the bare head, so not counting the hair). Each block finishes at 7 1/2" x 11 1/2". What You Get * A digital pattern delivered instantly by email * 9 pages of pattern pieces for paper dolls (with and without tights) hairstyles and outfits – full size so there’s no enlarging needed * Detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos – you’ll never feel lost or wonder if you’re doing it right * Links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to complete the project. It’s a workshop disguised as a pattern! The main instructions are for appliqué with fusible adhesive, but the pattern also has instructions and pattern pieces for any appliqué technique. * Detailed cutting instructions for crib, nap and twin sized quilts. * Instructions for assembling the quilt – layering, basting, quilting and binding – with links to videos for all of them – including links to Quilt As You Go videos. What You Need Crib Size (52.5″ wide x 57.5″ tall) * 3 1/4 yards of a variety of background fabrics * 2 yards skin-colored fabrics * assorted scraps for hair and clothing * 2 5/8 yards fabric for the quilt back (or 1 3/4 yards Cuddle Fleece) * 1/2 yard binding fabric Napping Size (52.5″ wide x 69″ tall) * 4 yards of a variety of background fabrics * 2 1/2 yards skin-colored fabrics * assorted scraps for hair and clothing * 3 1/4 yards fabric for the quilt back (or 2 1/4 yards Cuddle Fleece) * 1/2 yard binding fabric Twin Size (75″ wide x 92″ tall) * 7 yards of a variety of background fabrics * 4 1/2 yards skin-colored fabrics * assorted scraps for hair and clothing * 5 1/2 yards fabric for the quilt back (or 4 1/4 yards Cuddle Fleece) * 5/8 yard binding fabric Other Materials * batting (I love Warm & Natural 100% cotton batting) * freezer paper (for machine applique technique) – either a roll from the grocery store, or printable freezer paper sheets * fusible adhesive (if using applique with fusible adhesive technique) Difficulty Easy! It’s great for beginners, and a fun and relaxing project for more experienced stitchers. If you can use your sewing machine, you have the skills you need to make this quilt. You can do it! Are you ready to make this quilt? It’s a PDF pattern so you’ll get it instantly. :-)

This beginner friendly quilted postcard tutorial is so fun for the holidays! Sew and send handmade notes to your friends!
I am finally feeling not so overwhelmed and that means I am usually more productive. I have finished another quilt that has been in the block stage for months. That make me feel so good! I started these blocks at the beginning of 2022 as a Rainbow Scrap Challenge quilt. I had recently released my Chaser Block pattern (One of my Scrap Mixology patterns) and had the idea to add the flip corners to the block so a pinwheel appears where the block connects. The little flip corners are not part of the pattern. I just constantly have ideas that I want to try. Which is why I haven't released Module #5 yet....I am too busy going back and playing with the first four modules. There are just so many quilts to make! I really enjoyed making these blocks every month. I just used whatever width of scrap I found in the right color. Not a whole lot of cutting was required! I found a red and pink print that I really liked in my stash but it wasn't quite big enough. So I found a dark red piece to run down the back vertically. The swirl quilting really shows up on it. I will hold onto this one for a while. I love how bright it is and it will make a great class sample if I choose to teach this class. This quilt represents what Scrap Mixology is all about - making small changes to block to get a whole new look! Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Laughter is the best medicine and it's time for a big dose of happy. Kick up your feet and enjoy some of the most liked/pinned/shared sewing and quilting memes/comics. So many misconceptions about what a sewist really does. Honestly, I'd say most of my time is spent finding the tools I just had in my hand a second ago.
And the finishes keep coming! I needed my design wall cleared for another quilt, so I finished up my Kaffe Scrap quilt. I tried to get some indoor photos but I don't have a space big enough in my house to get the whole quilt in one photo. So here is the top half... And here is the bottom half. I ended up using a faded chambray fabric I had picked up at Connecting Threads on sale. It was an extra wide backing so I didn't need to piece the long strips. I quilted vertical squiggly lines and swirls. Fast and Simple - especially on a longarm. I used up some older stash pieces on the back. The purple and brown floral is across the center with the giant swirls at the top and bottom of the quilt. That big floral has been cherished for a long time but it was just too perfect for this quilt. And...I am determined to use the fabric I have! One of my friends showed up so I was able to snap a quick outdoor photo. It is really rainy and blustery today so we had to be quick! This design is one of my Scrap-A-Palooza designs and I have to say, it is one of my favorites. It sure looks pretty made from these Kaffe Fassett scraps.
