It is the largest quilt show in Europe and has been in existence for 17 years. Due to the pandemic, the show was canceled in 2020 but with many precautions they were able to have a safe and successful event this August. There are 17 different categories in the Festival of Quilts including categories for Modern, Contemporary, and Art quilts, all of which cater in different ways to modern quilters. Over 800 quilts were on display, and we wanted to share some of our favorites that we saw while stalking the show on social media. We thank all the makers of the quilts for providing photos of their quilts so that we could share them here with you.

I'm making adorable scrappy quilt blocks along with AP&Q's quilt-along. The design is a great little block by Christa Watson and making the blocks is really entertaining. I decided to omit a few of the seams in the background. I think it looks fine either way and I wanted to speed things up a little

Catalina loves Cats. That's why as soon as I saw this quilt pattern, I knew it was for her. It is titled Pins and Paws from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. There was some fun quilting on this quilt. I love pieced backs. It's also a good way to use up left over fabric. This backing idea is from Gyleen Fitzgerald. This is one of my favorite border quilting patterns. I love quilted straight lines. They add so much movement to a quilt. The whole quilt. Richard thought the quilting was odd, but I think it is very modern. As always, a label.

Some of these photos were taken many years ago, and you can tell cameras have come a long way :) Here goes!Collage quilts are basically a background piece of fabric with flowers from other fabrics cut out and glued in place then stitched down with quilting.
