This past weekend I decided to visit Hanging Rock State Park, located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. There are several waterfalls to photograph, I’ll be focused on the Lower Cascades this trip. The hike to Lower Cascades was quite easy compared to the hikes to Window and Hidden Falls. The trail meandered through dense forests, I constantly monitored the light and was concerned I would miss the golden hour and must compete with others enjoying the view. When we arrived, the golden hour bathed the landscape in warm hues, I was impressed with the 35-foot drop and the pool at the base of the falls, amazing! Also, my wife and I were delighted to have almost an hour of uninterrupted freedom to capture the falls from different perspectives, we were the only people there! My wife and I agreed, lower cascades quickly became our favorite at Hanging Rock. I hope you enjoyed these images! I recommend getting the biggest piece you can fit on your wall, as the printing price only goes up gradually as you double, triple or quadruple the size of the print. Is a 16x20 considered a large print? A. It may seem like it is, however, it is dependent on room size. Look at your image with the Lady holding the 16x20, then compare that with the 16x20 over the king bed. The 1x3 size seems to work for some images but not others, why? A. The 1x3 is a nonstandard unusual format and tends to stretch the image. Many customers love that look, however, be sure you’re happy with how it looks in my store. The image accurately represents stretching.

About the Author: Steve Solomon has been writing Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades since 1979. 368 Pages Gardening, Regional Description Book Synopsis The ultimate bible for organic vegetable gardening in the Pacific Northwest, featuring extensive updates and new material on soil health, natural pest control, and more Now in its seventh edition, this complete guide to organic vegetable, herb, and flower gardening addresses issues of soil, seeds, compost, and watering. Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades has evolved from a self-published pamphlet into the master guide to organic gardening over the past thirty-five years. Steve Solomon, who founded the Territorial Seed Company, was one of the early proponents of organic gardening, and the first to codify and refine the best practices of small-plot vegetable gardening in the Pacific Northwest. The approaches to understanding and preparing soils, composting, chemical-free fertilizers, efficient uses of water, and garden planning are universal to any climate or region. Solomon gets specific in his extensive advice on growing specific crops--from tomatoes and beans to kale and turnips--in the gentle maritime Northwest climate. This new and updated edition includes: - A new formula for complete organic fertilizer and how to tweak it for different soil conditions - How-to sections for herbs and ornamental plants - New organization for better usability - Updated sources for appropriate seed suppliers - Information about natural pest controls Review Quotes "Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades could easily be subtitled Vegetables 101. . .This is good, solid stuff for any gardener." --Fine Gardening "Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades . . . is our best regional reference for growing organic vegetables. When-to-plant and how-to-grow advice is unsurpassed." --Sunset Magazine "[A] new, completely rewritten-from-front-to-back edition of an indispensable classic." --Eugene Weekly "For a great schedule of what to plant and when, Steve Solomon's Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades is a great resource--for this and all other topics related to vegetable gardening in the Pacific Northwest." --Actively Northwest About the Author Steve Solomon has been writing Growing Vegetables West of the Cascades since 1979. He has homesteaded in Oregon because he believed in living self-sufficiently, and he is the founder of the Territorial Seed Company. Marina McShane joined the Territorial Seed Company in 1981 working in the seed room and helping in the trial grounds. That intensive immersion into the philosophy and practices of the organic gardening of vegetables still informs her approach.
