Sometimes it’s the littlest rooms that pack the biggest punch. At the Fischer Flip house, this certainly rings true of this adorable half bath. We spent the last half of 2020 completely renovating this home. Now that it’s officially under contract for sale, the one room I’ll be saddest to let go is the sweet […]

Do you have any of these around the house? Ever wondered how can I decorate with this and make it work with my style of decorating? This was my son's deer. It was just sitting around. I didn't want it to break but wanted to figure out how to display it in a way that would flow with my decor. I asked him can I decorate it. He kindly said, "go for it". So I did. Here is what I came up with. I had envisioned a deco podge look. So I took an old book and cut it into strips and soaked them in water. Then I laid them in a pattern on the skull, just to make sure I was going to like it. Didn't want to make it permanent, if I wasn't sure. I liked the look. So I decided I wanted to use a book that I liked. I went with Romeo and Juliet. Not because I love the book but I love the thought of Romance! I know a dead deer head isn't romantic. It turned out to be a romantic piece in our guest bathroom in our cabin though. I started with packing paper. I modged podged it first, that way I would have a more solid surface. Next, I cut strips from the book. I looked for parts I thought would be interesting to see or that would pop. I love the the little strip, where the nurse tells Juliet that his name is Romeo. Here he is all wrapped in William Shakespeare. Isn't he romantic. :) He turned out to be an interesting piece in our little guest bathroom.

Lately I'm drooling over bathrooms. Is this normal? I came across these images from House Beautiful, and I couldn't look away! I wanted to share with you... My bonus room has a powder room with a pedestal sink and I'm wondering if something bold and fun is in order..... I always tend to stay far from dark color on the walls, but mixed with this all white bathroom it really makes the penny tiles on the floor and the antique tub pop. I grew up with a claw foot tub in my bathroom and I really would LOVE to have one now. The drop in jacuzzi tub doesn't really flip my lid, ya know? okay, so maybe this drop in tub I could go for....love that pearlized tile and the soothing color palette. now that is a beautiful, simple double sink vanity.... I love this modern trough sink with wall mounted faucets mixed with the claw foot tub. simple and classic double vanity with the marble tops, so elegant and clean. The juxtaposition of the the clean lines and dark wood vanity mixed with the white tones of the floor, tub and walls is so pretty. Oh, and that light fixture! It's a great statement. I love the simplistic farmhouse look to these vessel sinks and concrete vanity GORGEOUS wall mounted sink I love this retro sink, the wallpaper and the pops of pink! I wish this was my girl's bathroom! If you are gonna go masculine, this sure is the way to go! This sleek masculine modern bathroom is so chic. I love the vanity top and the mixture of vertical and horizontal subway tiles! Anybody updating a bathroom in your house? Comment with your blog permalink so we can all see! The girls and I are headed to the pumpkin patch this week and are super excited!

------- Over the last few weeks the water pressure in our kitchen has greatly diminished…… as in the water was just trickling out. At first we thought maybe there was a water main break which is not uncommon in our small town. Especially with the extreme heat we have had the least few weeks. After a few days passed though we realized we had water pressure in the bathrooms so it was obviously a problem with our kitchen faucet. After taking the faucet a part and cleaning it the conclusion was made that we needed a new faucet. Yes, after less than three years our faucet was bad!!!!!! ------- The old faucet in oil rubbed bronze…… The new faucet in stainless steel……. ------- Hope you will consider following me on Google Friends Connect or with the Linky follower option. ------- Joining the party at: Savvy Southern Style & No Minimalist Here & Stone Gable
