A da Vinci Notebook is a place for students to document their questions, things they’ve learned, and all their ideas! Just like many adults keep notebooks to organize their thoughts and plans for the future, students need to be given an opportunity to write down things they are thinking and learn throughout the day. By calling it a “da Vinci Notebook,” students are encouraged to become like da Vinci himself who kept several journals to document pretty much everything and anything in which he wondered, learned, or had an idea. Through this notebook, students are given an opportunity to take ownership of their learning and create new and innovative things. Included in this product are: Information regarding how to incorporate a da Vinci notebook in your classroom Instructions on how to put it together (it's very simple!) 3 notebook cover options for students to choose from Student expectations page 3 notebook page tabs to divide your notebook into three sections To create the notebook, your students will need either a composition notebook or an 8.5 x 11 notebook. Biomolecule Doodle notes are so much fun! The purpose of doodle notes is to make note-taking more engaging and memorable for students. Research shows that doodle notes require both hemispheres of the brain - the analytical right side and the creative left side. Using both sides of the brain activates more memory-building neurons which leads to higher retention. Doodle notes are especially helpful for students who are visual learners. The pictures and colors they create while making doodle notes are much easier for them to recall than black and white fill-in-the-blank or skeleton notes. Resource comes with: --Blank notes - one sheet per biomolecule (Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids) --Filled in colored notes for each biomolecule --Teaching guide with tips for how to use in the classroom My students have really enjoyed using doodle notes! They say it is more engaging, enjoyable and even relaxing! I have also noticed that students are much more likely to take care of their notes, having put so much of their own effort into them. At conferences, I wanted to be able to say more than your child knows half of their letters. I wanted them to know specifically which ones they knew and which ones they are still practicing at school. This resource includes: -1 handout with letter names and lowercase letter sounds -1 handout with letter names and uppercase letter sounds -1 handout designed to be a half sheet with the numbers 1-20 included -1 handout designed to be a half sheet with the numbers 1-10 included I hope this helps you articulate the specific knowledge your students have mastered! :) Happy Teaching!

MINDFULNESS is a way of life. Many school districts (including my own) have adopted mindfulness as a powerful tool and approach to combat toxic stress. Research has shown that a mindful mindset can help students become less anxious and more confident in the face of adversity. Mindfulness Coloring Pages are great tools for engaging students in cultivating a mindful mindset. Coloring reduces stress and anxiety because it enables students to focus on the present moment. Ways to Use the Mindfulness Coloring Pages: As early-finishers or do-nows After recess or any other high-energy activity In a Self-Regulation session Display the completed pages on a bulletin board Add them to an interactive notebook for frequent reference Create a "My Mindfulness Coloring Book" using the covers that are included BONUS: A MINDFULNESS booklist to be used as read alouds, for literature circles, in immersion studies, during Think-Alouds, or as an introduction to MINDFULNESS. This Product Includes: ♥ 12 Mindfulness Coloring Pages ♥ 2 Different My Mindfulness Coloring Book Covers (Both come in full color and B/W) ♥ a “MINDFULNESS” banner pennant header ♥ A 1-page Mindfulness Booklist 12 MINDFULNESS Quotes Included in This Product: • Approach everyday things with curiosity – and savor them. - Dr. Elisha Goldstein • When stressed out…or in doubt…look within. – Francois Lange • Feelings are just visitors, just let them come and go. – Mooji • You cannot stop the sea. You cannot stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf on them. – Eline Snel • Wherever you are, be all there. – Jim Elliot • It’s a nice feeling to just be. – Pema Chodron • The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness. – Sakyong Mipham • May I quiet my words & listen. This is a great two part lab that can be done over 3 or 4 days (Depending on your classes etc). The first part of this lab is a directed activity on acceleration with small toy cars (I use hot wheels). Your students will collect data, graph it, calculate and answer analysis questions. The second part requires them to create their own lab using bouncy balls and calculating acceleration. The second part of the lab is a great way for the students to show their curiosity and creativity within the science classroom. I have done this for a few years now, and each year my students tell me it was one of their favorites. If your students need a little more practice with acceleration, check out my practice worksheet: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Acceleration-Practice-972387 (Science, middle school, physics, lab, activity, acceleration, cars, creative)
