This lovely countrysied walk will take you from the village of Ockley to the summit of Leith Hill, the highest spot in southeast England. There are some sections of road walking on this route which should be taken wit extreme care, and be aware that many of these trails are mixed use so pleas keep an eye out for mountain bikers and horse riders (if your dog comes with you it's best to bring a lead). However, all this is worth it for this pleasant countryside ramble with beautiful views from the summit of Leith Hill. The Leith Hill Tower was constructed in 1765 as a platform from which to enjoy the surrounding countryside. It now houses a small cafe and the hill still makes a great spot to have a picnic and enjoy the view. At the end of your walk, Ockley has a number of pubs and cafes to relax after a day's hike. There are some steep and occasionally muddy ascents along this route so it's best to wear stout footwear.
