💜 Good morning dear friends #nature #photography
Rosa Veilchenblau is a stunning vigorous Rambling Rose with purple-violet flowers, and is often referred to as the Violet Rambler. This beautiful climber holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and comes highly recommended. Rose Veilchenblau boasts deciduous glossy foliage with a mid-green tone and almost thornless stems. It blooms in mid-summer with one magnificent flush of tightly packed large-cupped flowers. The flowers are a glorious mix of purple-mauve petals with a white centre and warm yellow stamens. The semi-double petals measure 2.5 cm in width. This is a beautiful rose and one for those of you who love colour. Blooms turn a darker mauve to greyish lilac as they age, sometimes appearing blue before they fall. The fragrance is light, fresh and fruity, and the colourful scented flowers of Rose Veilchenblau are popular with pollinators. Wildlife enjoy the red hips that follow in late summer. How Hardy Is Rosa VeilchenblauThis is a hardy Rambling Rose with plenty of strength that can withstand subzero winters and dry summers. How To Use Rosa VeilchenblauRose Veilchenblau is a climber, so it is best used to scramble up a wall, pillar, fence line or tree. It spreads over 2.5 metres and grows to heights of 4 metres plus, so not quite as tall as some other ramblers, such as Paul’s Himalayan Musk, although older untouched specimens can reach many metres in height. This makes it a better choice for more compact spaces, and because it is practically thornless it is a good choice for gardeners with children or pets. Teamed with white flowering clematis, or a climbing rose with several flushes of pale colour such as Climbing Rose Snow Princess, Rosa Veilchenblau is a summer garden staple. How To Care for Rosa VeilchenblauRosa Veilchenblau is tolerant of most growing conditions including poor soil, shade and a northerly aspect. It does prefer full sun and a moist well drained soil, but can thrive in most gardens.Mulch this Rambling Rose well in early spring with rotted manure, and tie back the stems in the direction you want them to grow. It does not require pruning, but you can restrict its spread after the flower display. If you prune, be aware ramblers flower on old wood.Rosa Veilchenblau is a reliable choice with strong vigorous growth and stunning colourful flower display. If you are looking to quickly cover an unsightly area with glossy green and a flush of rich purple tones this is the Rambling Rose for you.

Nothing says mystery and drama quite like the colour black, and the same rings true in the garden.

Growing roses from seeds can be a fulfilling gardening project, although it requires patience. Here’s a simplified three-step guide to get you started: Step 1: Stratification First, you need to mimic the natural cold period that rose seeds undergo to germinate. Prepare Seeds: Soak the rose seeds in diluted hydrogen peroxide (optional) for approximately an hour to kill any fungus or bacteria, then rinse them with clean water. Cold Stratification: Mix the seeds with slightly moistened peat moss or sand in a zip-lock bag. Seal the bag and place it in the refrigerator (not the freezer) for about 10 to 12 weeks. Check periodically to ensure the medium remains moist but not wet. Step 2: Sowing After the stratification period, it's time to plant your seeds. Prepare Soil: Fill seed trays or small pots with a well-draining soil mix. You can use a mix designed for seed starting or make your own by combining peat moss, vermiculite, and perlite. Plant Seeds: Sow the seeds on the soil surface, then lightly cover them with a thin layer of soil or vermiculite. Water gently but thoroughly. Create Humidity: Cover the trays or pots with a clear plastic cover or plastic wrap to maintain humidity. Place in a warm, bright spot but out of direct sunlight to avoid overheating. Step 3: Care and Transplanting After germination, which can take a few weeks to a few months, you’ll need to care for the seedlings. Germination: Watch for seedlings, and as they appear, gradually remove the plastic cover to acclimate them to the lower humidity. Light: Move the seedlings to a sunny location or under grow lights to ensure they receive enough light without scorching. Water and Feed: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. After a couple of weeks, start feeding with a diluted, balanced, liquid fertilizer every two weeks. Transplanting: Once the seedlings have grown large enough and have developed several sets of true leaves, they can be transplanted into individual pots or into a prepared garden spot. Harden off the plants by gradually acclimating them to outdoor conditions before planting them out. Remember, growing roses from seeds is a test of patience, with flowers often not appearing until the second or third year. However, the joy of seeing your roses bloom from seeds you planted is well worth the wait!

Loud color creates a captivating effect in this fantastic rose. You can enjoy the amazing roses with deep violet petals thanks to artisan techniques. Because of its strong color, this purple rose is great for achieving big impact, especially when paired with other dark-colored flowers, like our famous black roses. Please note: Colors may vary slightly from the photo as each bouquet is created based on the season.
