Rosa Jude the Obscure ('Ausjo'), early June. A shrub rose from David Austin, bred from 'Abraham Darby' and 'Windrush' and introduced in 1995. The flowers are pale apricot in the centre with creamy white outer petals.
Considered one of the most fragrant and best repeat-flowering of all English Roses, Rosa The Lady Gardener is incredibly floriferous, nearly covering itself in perfume and flowers from early summer to frost. It produces large, 4 in. wide (10 cm), semi-double, rosette-shaped in a rich apricot shade that will catch your eye. The rosette-shaped flowers are full-petalled with a large button eye that gradually opens up. Loosely arranged in a quartered formation, the petals (9-16 petals) delicately pale towards the outside, before eventually fading to cream all over. Strongly fragrant, a mix of Tea rose with hints of cedar wood and vanilla, the blossoms are elegantly held against the lovely green semi-glossy foliage. Short, bushy with an upright habit, this Rose stands up well to rain!
