Basement Laundry Room - Traditionally, washers as well as clothes dryers were situated in the basement. Check here for the best one!
When I first set out to make over my laundry room, I wanted to create a space that wasn't just about utility, but also about comfort and style.
There's a lot to see beyond that pretty porch.
Nothing feels cleaner to me than the color white. White is pure, simple, and brings peace to a chaotic space. I cannot think of a more chaotic space in our home than our laundry room! It is always overflowing with piles of colorful toddler laundry, dirty kitchen towels, and mounds of fresh laundry that has yet to be folded. Instead of adding chaos to the already cluttered space, I wanted to keep the room simple and monochromatic. That way, when the laundry starts piling up, the surroundings will bring a sense of calm. I used white penny tiles with a soft grey penny tile border on the floor. The cabinets are a soft grey and the countertops are a white quartz. I decided to bring the white subway tile backsplash up to the ceiling behind the floating shelves. The hardware is a soft brushed nickel. My absolute most favorite thing about the laundry room is the double washer and dryer. It feels like a laundromat! After living in a house with first floor laundry (our old house), we were torn between putting one laundry on the first floor and one on the second floor. We decided on keeping the laundry all in one space to simplify and minimize laundry piles into one room instead of two. The double washer and dryer expedites the laundry process exponentially. We built-in an ironing board to save on storage. We also have this amazing rolling hamper that we love! We left room under the cabinets for open space for laundry baskets. This laundry has truly turned out to be way better than I expected. It makes doing laundry so enjoyable.
