A royal treat! This adorable knit shawl pattern was inspired by a similar item worn by the beloved Kate Middleton. Kate's Ruffled Shawl is a fun shawl to throw on for a quick errand or whenever you feel like looking a little more polished. This knit ruffle shawl looks great in green (as seen on Kate), but another solid color would be just as charming. Cute and completely versatile, this pattern is a great project for the intermediate knitter looking to master the ruffled hem technique.
Unilintu is a triangular top-down shawl/scarf. The shape of the shawl is a horizontally wide and vertically shallow triangle. Alternating garter stitch and eyelet rows create a simple stripey texture. The pattern can be made with fingering to worsted weight yarn. Yardage depends on chosen weight of yarn and desired size of shawl. The sample shawl was made with Malabrigo Yarn Lace in two colorways (Paris Night and Indigo) holding two strands of yarn together as one strand. The sample shawl has 13 full pattern repeats (13 eyelet rows). Finished measurements after blocking: 132 cm (52”) wingspan along top edge (not including pompoms) / 37 cm (14,5”) along center stitch. The pattern is also available: in French in Hungarian Suomenkielinen ohje löytyy täältä.
Knitting is a method by which thread or yarn is used to create a cloth. Knitted fabric consists of several consecutive rows of loops, called stitches. As each row progresses, a new loop is pulled through an existing loop. The active stitches are held on a needle until another loop…

Fortune's Shawlette, and your requests, are the inspiration for Fortune's Wrap! While the Shawlette is small and dainty, looking lovely as a light summer layer on the shoulders or as a cozy cowl, Fortune's Wrap is oversize, cozy, crazy versatile... with a little bit of bling! Satin Pillows Necklace Sterling Boutique Handbag Tunisian Islander Onefellswoop FlexMitts Until I learned this month that I'm a finalist for the Crochet Liberation Front's Best Crochet Designer for Accessories award, I didn't realize how many accessories I designed in 2010! I've been staying out of trouble, writing up new crochet patterns, learning how my new website works, and how to make downloadable PDF's look the way I want them to--stuff like that. I'm still a bit stunned: I'm very honored to be nominated and to share the honor with the other designers in this category. Makes me wonder if I should write a book of accessories to crochet LOL. I guess these patterns can pile up if one keeps designing them, huh. Pallas Scarf Weightless Tunisian I don't think of them as "accessories" though. Maybe that's why I didn't realize how many I designed in a year. The crochet jewelry designs, especially necklaces & lariats, feel like they're from a different part of my brain than, say, Tunisian shawls and wraps. Remember that cowl fever I caught? Cowls, mobiae, and scarves are their own thing too. So are handbags, and fingerless gloves. Lovepod Boa Stitchmerge How-to (And then that Lovepod Boa, see at left--I don't know which part of the brain that one came from. Is it jewelry worn as a scarf, or vice versa?) The Crochet Liberation Front created the Flamies Awards about three years ago, and the winners are announced on a special episode of Mary Beth Temple's Getting Loopy podcast. ("Flamies" refers to flaming hooks of justice!) Chainmaille Cowl-Scarves Frostyflakes Superpattern Voting for the Annual Flamies Awards begins this week: March 15. I'm very excited because in only three years it has become the "academy awards" for crocheters.
