Hi! Hope you are having a beautiful day! I'm back this week to share with you another wedding layout I made and a process video of how to do heat embossing in vellum to create the beautiful gold flowers I used in the layout titled "Our Wedding". As mentioned previously, I only have a few wedding photos (the ones printed by the photographer for the wedding album), but I don't have them in digital format so scanned the photo to use it. For this layout I used papers from My Mind's Eye Bliss collection. This collection only has a few sheets of paper, many of them with dots, in a coral/white/gold/green pallet, but they are beautiful. The flowers in this collection are amazing, full of foil details. I fuzzy cut all the flowers from one of the papers and used them to embellish the layout. Since I love patterned papers so much, I always want to use them as much as possible in my layouts. In this page, I added two pieces to the left and for more texture I teared their edges. Also, I did a machine stitched border around the layout using a gold tone thread The page was embellished using puffy dot stickers from My Mind's Eye Blush collection in three different areas: both flower clusters and the title area. The title is part of the die cuts from the My Mind's Eye Bliss collection, also the hearts and banners. This wood veneer label is from Elle's Studio. I used it because I think it is very cute and adds another layer and texture to this elegant page. To enhance more the gold tone on the page, I used some vellum embossed flowers I made using the Honey Bee stamp and die for Winter Anemone. They are high quality stamps and the customer service is amazing! I made a process video of how I made those flowers, which I'll be sharing at the end of this post. To finish the layout, I added some gold paint splatters using Shimmerz Miner, Miner 49er paint. Here is the process video of how to make the gold embossing flowers, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me by leaving a comment and I'll be glad to help you. If you prefer the Spanish Version check it here: Thanks for visiting my blog, hope this project inspires you to create!
Hey guys! I just realized that I haven't blogged about anything wedding since 2018. How is that possible?! I created an album in 2019! Well, clearly ... someone forgot to post about that one (and when I say someone, I mean me.) Ugh, I think I started losing brain cells at 50. And yeah, that was 4 years ago so there's a lot missin' up there and a lot to discuss. So today, I've added 2 new instructions to my shop for a wedding album and a 12x12 scrapbook page layout. Take a look ... First up, is this beautiful wedding album titled Our Wedding Day that I created back in 2018. I designed it with the pretty Simple Stories, Always and Forever Collection and a 6x8 inch black binder. To purchase the instructions for this visit: Our Wedding Day Scrapbook Instructions This gorgeous 5x7" wedding themed album is perfect for telling your (or someone's) love story. Pictures of the engaged couple, the ring, the rehearsal, dress shopping, bridal party and all the wonderful moments leading up to and including the BIG day will fill these pages for years to come. This album can hold at least 60 photos of various sizes. It has 16 pages (8 double-sided) including pocket pages and two fold-out pages so great space for saving extra photos or memorabilia like, your handwritten vows, your invitation, a printed napkin, wedding cards, place cards, notes, etc. This would make a beautiful handmade gift for any bride, the perfect album for parents or grandparents, or ... great keepsake for you of all those extra photos other people took throughout the event. I love all the touches of gold foil throughout this album. So pretty!! Up next ... 12x12 layouts! I haven't forgotten about everyone that prefers to create 12x12 pages. I've also added the instructions for my beautiful Wedding Layout Kit as well. 12x12 Wedding Page Layouts To purchase the instructions to make these pages visit: Wedding Layout Instructions Remember, if the exact collections for these are no long available, you can substitute any collection you like. It's easy to find papers & embellishments to replace the ones in my photos and make your album one-of-a-kind! My simple instructions give you the how-to on layout and design with plenty of color photos for inspiration! I hope I have everyone thinking about the next upcoming wedding or maybe pulling out photos from a previous one. Happy scrappin'! Hi everyone! I'm so happy to be sharing with you all my first layout using the NEW Limited Edition 'Nyhavn' collection by Maja Design! I really love the sunny, pretty colors in this collection, and when I saw the nautical elements in the papers, I knew that I had found the perfect papers to scrap a photo I took of my niece and her hubby. My niece's reception was at a yacht club, and she chose nautical elements for her decor. Add to that, her wedding colors where orange and blue, two colors that are prevalent in this lovely collection. So this collection was just the ticket to get this photo scrapped! I used 'The Sunny Side' paper as my base and dabbed a little Ingvild Bolme chalk inks (Rusty Keys, Vintage Pink) around my photo area and the small cluster in the top right side of the page. I then added a bit of texture with some home-made texture paste and a few Crafters Workshop Stencils (North Star, Art Is, Time Travel). I mounted this paper on the 'Sitting at the Dock' paper, I also used this paper as the matting behind my photo. I cropped it to look like uneven pieces of weathered board. All the chipboard I used on this page is from Dusty Attic (Elegant Swirl #3, Elegant Swirl 13, Word Pack #4, Skeleton Clock Frames). I kept the chipboard bare with just touches of grey and white to stay with the weather wood look of the papers. I also did a little bit of stamping with a Graphic45 'By The Sea' stamp set. The lovely pearl/lace strip running down the left side of the page is from Tresors de Luxe,...if you are a person that likes to add fabric elements to your projects, Lucy's etsy shop is a must see! Her vintage lace, fabric blooms and trinkets are pure elegance! The blooms I used on this page where one of my favorite finds (from a couple years ago) at Michaels, I got a 6 pack of these blossoms for $1.50!! Sadly most of them were sold out by the time I got to them, but I was happy to get my hands of the few that were there! I hope you all enjoyed today's project, if you are looking to get yourself some Dusty Attic chipboard, you can either order direct from Dusty Attic (they are having a 20% off sale right now through to the end of the month), or you can find Dusty Attic in the USA at Moments of Tranquility and The Scrapbook Diaries (both online stores also carry Maja Design papers), in Canada at The Scrapping Bug. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, your sweet comments and feedback always make my day! xo

Hello! I've been occupied with other things so I haven't had time to post too much for a while. My last project for this month is this wedding card that I designed and created for one of my nephews who got married this month. The wedding was in northern Georgia and the reception was held in a barn. It was so quaint and positively charming! May the beautiful bride and handsome groom have many, many years of wedded bliss! I decided to make my card in ivory (GKD Ivory) instead of the tradition white. I began by working on the card front panel (a.k.a. shaker panel), cut to measure 4 7/8 x 6 7/8. Then, after determining the placement of the images I planned to use, I computer generated the greeting and name of the couple. Next, the champagne glasses, using a Die-Namics Layered Champagne Glass die, were positioned and cut out, each one separately, leaving the negative space (the actual cut outs were saved for another time, another project). Then the card front was embossed with a die from Spellbinders 5X7 Matting Basics A. Next, I adhered a piece of acetate on the back of the card front which would serve as the "see-through" portion. Then, still working on the back of the card front, I created a tight gap-free frame around each champagne glass using adhesive foam strips in order to create a shallow space for the shaker elements to sit it. Now, I had planned to use gold glitter for the shaker elements inside of the champagne glasses. However, I had to figure out a way to keep the glitter from falling into the glass stems. I ended up using a thin piece of a foam strip where the glass meets the stem. I also placed foam strips around all the edges of the panel to make it level. I did not remove the protective lining from the adhesive foam strips at this time. Now came the tricky part....adding the glitter and keeping it isolated in the space it was intended for. I used a tiny spoon to carry the glitter from its container to the space in the champagne glasses. Satisfied that there was a sufficient and equal amount in each glass, the protective layers from all the foam strips were very slowly removed. I had previously prepared a piece of card stock, slightly smaller than the card front, and adhered this to the back of the shaker panel to keep the glitter inside the glasses. Bows, cut from glittery gold card stock with a die from Frantic Stamper Gifts and Bows, were adhered to the base of the wine glasses to conceal the foam strips hiding there. The two hearts were cut using Spellbinders Classic Hearts in glittery gold card stack and positioned with dimensionals, one heart slightly over the other. This completed my front panel. The last step was to adhere the panel to my base card and the card was done. This took a lot of time and patience, but I was very pleased with the end result. I hope the young wedding couple liked it as well. Christmas is just about 9 weeks away and I have to start moving on making my Christmas cards. (Where did the year go?) So that will be my project for the next many weeks. And hopefully I will have them done in time for mailing them out. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope this card gave you some inspiration to create. Until next time, make it a great day!

Hi there crafty peeps, I'm stopping by today to share some projects with the super cool Spellbinders April 2020 Small and Large Die kits! Do you guys remember the Trucking Through the Seasons die set from 2018?! It was an extremely popular one, it sold out fast several times - and it was (still is) one of my most favorite Spellbinders die set ever. Then later they released the So Many Sentiments die set, which coordinates with the Trucking Through the Seasons die set. Both the Large and Small Die kits this month coordinate with the original set too - but can also be used on their own, to create projects for a variety of occasions! As a reminder, Spellbinders have several monthly kits, which are really great! You can subscribe to: Small Die of the Month Large Die of the Month Card Kit of the Month Stamp of the Month Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Glimmer Hot Foil Kit of the Month You can find all necessary information about these kits here. I'll start with the Small Die kit. Since I love the truck so much, I used it on almost all my cards today but there's so many pieces in this set and you really don't need the truck to create one of a kind projects! I actually made a wedding card with the truck before where I added puffy heart stickers for balloons! You can check it out (and more with the same dies) HERE! On this pair of cards I've used a mix of Alexandra Renke and My Mind's Eye papers. I embossed both backgrounds using the I Heart embossing folder. I just love the texture these folder create, what do you think? I will be honest, die cutting all the pieces you need takes a while! At least for me. All the planning of papers and colors that would work together and then sometimes it doesn't work out the way I hope so I have to recut them lol! Please tell me I'm not the only one! About the engagement rings...There actually is a diamond die in the set but I had this patterned paper full of diamonds that I would never use for anything so it was the perfect occasion to use at least ONE haha! It is much bigger than the die though! As well as wedding, engagement themed dies, you'll also get some holiday items, like the bow I used here or a "Happy" bauble and "Holidays" licence plate. Now for the Large Die kit! In this kit you'll get dies for baby boy/girl, sports/game day and birthday themes. I haven't used the birthday theme because I rarely make cards for babies and I have never made any sports themed one before - so I definitely wanted to use these! First up, Babies! The only Baby themed paper collection I have ever bought is the Little You collection from Crate Paper, and luckily I still have some of the precious papers, even the 6x6 pads so they were perfect for these cards! I had to add some color card stock and some patterned paper from Alexandra Renke because there's just not enough solids in those baby collections. See, if you don't have the truck die set, you can just die cut lots of baby bottles and rattles and create your own background patterns - which is one of my favorite things to do and you'll see an example down below! The oval dies I used here I use all the time too, they are really great basics! I love my layers, can't help it. Nestabilities Fancy Edged Ovals Etched Dies Then the scallops you see at the bottom of the baby girl card comes in another really great and versatile set: Shapeabilities Tiered Rosettes Etched Dies Last but not least my sports themed card duo! I was so happy about this one because I literally only create masculine cards once a year! I'm sure many of you know what I mean ha! I think one of the reasons though is that I simply have no masculine products. I have a really cool stamp set from Spellbinders, Sophisticated Animals and that was it! You get a soccer ball, basketball, baseball + baseball bat, football as well as three different sports themed sentiment dies, I believe. For these cards I used a variety of Alexandra Renke papers. I love this color combo! By the way, this is what I meant above that you don't need the truck die to be able to create projects with these die sets. Like I did here, you can play with different arrangements and build background patterns, it's so fun! That's it! What do you guys think? Do you like this month's die kits? Should you have any questions, leave a comment below! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a nice day! X

Last week, we had a bridal shower for my friend Meredith, who is getting married in August. The lucky girl is going to Disneyland Paris for her honeymoon, so I picked something up for her when I was in Disneyland over Spring Break - a pair of bridal veil mouse ears! I had a plan to trick the girl into thinking I bought her some lingerie, so I made this pretty card and wrote a note inside: "Here's a little something for you to wear on your Honeymoon..." She totally fell for it! She opened my card, thanked me, then quietly tucked the gift under her chair, embarrassed to open it! Haha! We finally coaxed her into opening it and she was pleasantly surprised to find the adorable mouse ears among all the tulle and tissue inside the shirt box. :) Here are the DEEtails for my card: I found the tutorial for this beautiful doily dress here which I followed for the skirt of the dress. The edge of the doily I used was perfect for the bodice, so I folded it over the center portion of the doily, which I gently trimmed along the doily edge. I adhered the pieces together and tied on some lovely Two-Tone ribbon. A Basic Gray base was perfect for this card with a simple sentiment from Love and Laughter. P.S. The beauty of this dress has a lot to do with the doily that you choose to use. I happen to have a small collection of paper doilies and tried these folds out on several different doilies before choosing this particular one. This specific doily is one that my mom got for me from a restaurant supply store and measures about 6 inches in diameter.
