Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I hope, wherever you are, that you are experiencing some lovely weather. Adelaide has been cold and overcast for weeks but, today, we finally have some sun!! It's still pretty cold though so all I can say is "Bring on the summer"!!!! OK, down to business ... I have another card to share with you. A very masculine and quite 'grungy' card as my title suggests. I distressed all the edges with my Ingvild Bolme Distressy Tool and inked them with 'Gathered Twigs' Distress Ink. A bit of Heather Jacob influence here I think, but still with my own stamp on it!! If you don't know Heather (Can't really imagine that, but) HERE is the link to her blog if you'd like to take a look!! You won't be sorry, as she creates the most gorgeous and inspiring projects! Looooveeee her work!! The papers used are from Prima's 'Engraver' Collection. The tickets were fussy cut from the papers then I crumpled them a little, inked the edges and slipped them in between the layers. Used a spatula to add some 'Clear Rock Candy' Distress Crackle and, when that was dry, I went over it with 'Gathered Twigs' Distress Ink to bring out the cracks. I then just used my finger to swipe some gesso around the edge. I love how the gesso also 'cracked' when it dried. Used the same technique on the belly band as you can see. I've had the metal key and the clock in my stash for a little while and am not sure where I got those but I really love that key. Was a bit sorry to use it as it is the only one I have but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet don't you?? Here's another closie of the 'crackle' effect. I really love it and you'll be seeing a lot more of this in my work!!! Decorated the inside with wide bands of the paper which were border punched with the 'Optic Dot' Punch by Martha Stewart. Then I added a bit more texture with Tim Holtz 'Latticework' Stencil and 'Frayed Burlap' Distress Ink and, again, wiped a little gesso around the edge on one side. A different view ... lying down ... ... and standing up!! This is the first of two 'grungy' masculine cards I created. The second is similar to this but of course a bit different as well and I will show you that one further down the track. Thank you so much for visiting today and I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Take care and God Bless.
One of my favorite DIY past times is so underrated by so many. Not sure how more people don't have a love for paper crafts. How about you? If you don't know by now how so many things there are that you can make from a simple piece of paper, you are about to learn.

Hey Y'all, I wanted to share my barrel with you from Wildflower Saloon SVG Kit svgcuts.com. Yes I am still making things from this kit. I really loved this kit and it has lent a lot to my creativity. I tried to make the barrel at the size it imports and found that since I used the extra panels to emboss on I had great difficulty getting the "rings" to fit around the barrel. It really wasn't turning out as I had envisioned. I did try to save it by inking it to be more as I had in my mind but I still didn't like it and so it went into the trash. I have a plan to make this for my best friends husband but I will have to make the rings slightly longer or not use the panels. I was not deterred and tried again to make it cutting the size of it for my craft room to 70%. I should say that I am still learning to use my eclips 2 and so anytime I can learn something new with the program I am all for it. It is much easier to learn things with the sizzix eclips group on Facebook. They are a very helpful group and don't mind my multiple questions. I even had someone say they were glad I got an eclips. Anyhoo, Deb Maurer said she had reduced the size of the quilt box to 60 % so I asked how do you do that.. and they told me. My rings for my barrel at 70% still don't fit around it easily. I am not sure if this was not compensated for but if it wasn't I am sure it was an oversight of Mary's. Update: I wrote her and asked. It turns out she forgot to delete those panels as she realized the rings would have to be adjusted... opps.. Oh dear when haven't things like that happened to us.. Glad to know I am not crazy lol. on to my barrel I had ordered the adrienneloomandesigns Country Girl Digital Paper pack from Snap Click Supply this past Wednesday when it was 1.00. IE Dollar Wednesdays at Snap Click Supply. I loved the prints in it and when I decided to try again I made my barrel 70 % instead of 100% of the size and printed this lovely yellow paper onto a vanilla American Craft Card Stock. The print turned out sooo pretty and I could hardly wait to use it on my barrel. I cut the base using Vanilla AC cardstock and then glued the panels into place. I did used the included rings I had for the rings of my barrel. I have made another set of rings by duplicating them and just making them a tad longer for future use. I like using panels and so I didn't want to just delete them. Follow Mary's tutorial to put the barrel together. I have trouble sometimes with my glue drying not quickly enough if the room is cold or humid so I go a little slower than Mary stopping her when I need to "catch up". I feel the long brads are needed to hold the rings in place a little better. I did use the shorter ones for this little barrel but there are a few longer ones there as well. I added a little rose ink on the edges of my rings to bring the colors of the paper a bit more into the whole design. The smaller size means I have a bit more room to display my creations and it makes me think of a barrel full of monkeys game we used to play when I was a kid. Anyway that is my barrel and I hope you like it. I love the soft colors and girly look and know it will fit right into my room. Some of you saw the girly rustic lantern I designed for my friend's craft room, is she loved it. I hoped she would. Such a wonderful thing to share your creations with someone you love. Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog and Happy Crafting Y'all!!! Blessings, Sharalyn To size your design down by percent in ecal go to object, transform, scale change the dimensions to percent, make sure the keep proportions box is checked and click the down arrows to change it to the percent you wanted to make your design. Hello and welcome! The card I have for you today is for two challenges: I chose the middle horizontal row of the grid - splatters, any sentiment, circle - and as luck would have it, items from my favourite-of-the-moment Curators Meadow collection use exactly the right colours of turquoise, yellow, brown and green. Here's my card: I added touches of the challenge colours on my background too but muted them with gesso to allow the circles to stand out. Materials used: stamps - Create Happiness - Elements (Stamperia) card - watercolour, Curators Meadow (49andMarket), crumb cake (SU) distress sprays - antique linen, uncharted mariner, vintage photo distress archival inks - vintage photo, ground espresso circle punches - 38mm, 32mm, 1", 3/4", 1/2" other - water spritzer, white gesso, paintbrushes, white calligraphy ink, Dimensionals, Curators Meadow rub-ons (49aM), craft foam, sponge dauber, Small Talk stickers (Tim Holtz) Thanks for calling in. Cheers Kerry Edited to add: My card was picked as the Designer's Choice for the Tic Tac Toe challenge. Thanks so much to the design team for this honour!

Hi all! It's time again for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge. This month, the theme is Houses. I couldn't wait to use dies from Karen's latest release! I thought her new House Pivot Panels die would make adorable haunted houses. The awesome thing about the House Pivot die is that it can be used alone, or with the Twist Panel and Tag Book dies. How cool is that? I kept the front fairly simple, decorating it with papers from Tim Holtz and dies from Karen's Halloween collections. The tiny houses were cut from various Tim Holtz papers and embellished with Tim's trinkets. The sentiment behind the panels is one of my favorite dies from Karen's new Halloween Charms collection. You can find the dies and other supplies I used via the links below. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure and check out Karen's blog tomorrow for another of her incredible videos and tons of inspiration from the whole team!
