I love sea shells and enjoy working them into my work. Years ago I created a shell wreath and once I had enough shells on hand I decided to recreate that wreath. This wreath is composed entirely of sea shells. From arks to augers to carrier shells, this wreath has them and many other different types of shells. The shell wreath measures approximately 15 inches in diameter (tip to tip). The base is a 12 inch straw wreath. The colors are spectacular with creams and browns in abundance.

Lexington Garden Design Charlotte Moss posted this stunning shell assemblage done by Lexington Garden Design. The jardiniere is French that she found on a shopping trip to Paris. This is in my foyer at CCC. My vintage chinoiserie chest is topped with my favorite pair of calligraphic ginger jars, a collection of conch shells, and sea fans in a vintage Kate Spade wicker handbag. CCC And on one of my toilets - LOL. CCC The Charlotte Moss assemblage has quite a collection including sea urchins, sea fans, barnacles, scallop shells, pearl trochus, white coral, red coral branches, and even a tiny clay pot. I would love to try my hand at this. I don't have a silver jardiniere, but I found this beautiful faux bamboo one that would work well. Faux Bamboo Oval Cachepot with Handles A miniature version would be beautiful in this Bunny Williams silver cachepot using tiny seashells. Bunny Williams Silver Wire Cachepot How do you think they have secured some of the dangling shells? Perhaps Museum Wax? This wonderful product is a must in my home. Used by museum curators and antique collectors, a dab prevents items from falling and breaking. Great for lamps, antiques, and collectibles, perfect if you have kids, cats, or dogs or visiting ones. It keeps items from slipping, sliding, or moving. One little jar lasts forever. A follower emailed me this week about ginger jar lids getting bumped off and broken and I suggested she secure the lids with Museum Wax. Museum Wax If you love seashells like I do, the west coast of Florida has some of the best seashell beaches in the world including Sanibel Island, Marco Island, Captiva Island, and the Venice beaches where I live.
