Rocket Larkspur is native to Europe. It comes in many varieties of colors and provides an excellent cut flower. The leaves and seeds of this flower are poisonous, so caution must be taken when planting around children or pets. Rocket Larkspur can be either spring or fall planted. If you spring plant, put the Rocket Larkspur seed in the refrigerator for two weeks prior to planting and you may yield better results. A burst of cold typically initiates germination of the seeds. Blooms can be expected anytime between spring and fall. Rocket Larkspur can be started indoors but must be transplanted when the plants are small. **For larger quantities than listed for sale please contact us for availability and pricing. The broadcast rate for seeding is 20 - 25 pounds per acre. The seed drill rate for seeding in rows is 10 pounds per acre.

Eryngium planum. This drought tolerant perennial thrives in sandy, well drained soil. Its stiff, spiny leaves are bluish green with silvery veins. It forms a clump over time, and blooms from June to September. The blue and white flower clusters each have a distinctive bract. Direct sow the seeds in autumn, or stratify in the fridge for three weeks if sowing in the spring. This involves planting into moist soil and enclosing the container in a plastic bag in the fridge. When the three weeks are up, move the bagged container into a warm room and await germination. Either way, this simulation of winter improves germination in Sea Holly seeds.
