I made a banner with an invented family crest for my sister Amy and George's wedding. The seven diamonds are from George's family crest, and the oak tree is an image that I had used as a family symbol and we thought it would work perfectly for Amy too. (We don't have a historical family crest but we all grew up in the shade of this great old oak tree in front of our house, and our father, a woodworker, always extolled the virtues of oak. Our parents' kitchen table is made of oak too.) The banner is made of felt and we hung it over the gazebo where they were married.
