A little corner dedicated to all things lovely in the world of textiles...
And so 2017 is coming to an end It was the year that brought our precious grand daughter Stevie Ray into this world. It was the year I turned Seventy Have to say this was the first birthday that shook me! It was the year Grand Daughter Ashley Rose turned three and what a fascinating age that is. It was the year son Brett found his Amber Outside of our family circle though it has been a year of shocking changes that have whirled around the world. For me it has been the year of the stone The year of finding stones both beautiful and ugly The year of learning to notice just the smallest and most subtle markings in nature. I hope I have learned something. I am finishing the year with a black full stop. A fossil that I have held in my hands for years and years. A fossil with markings so subtle they don't even show up in the photo. And now I will probably spend a good part of 2018 to put them all together! Happy New Year Everyone and Thank you for dropping by Through this process I have made so many friends and I love having those relationships. Just to let those of you who might not know... ....when you take the time to comment my response to comes back to you in the form of an email.

Thanks to Pinterest and the internet, crafters will never be without projects. I saw this shirt and wanted to do one of my own. Le Inspiration source Then, I saw A is for Ampersand make one of her own out of two sweatshirts. She made it look super easy so it motivated me to try. And, I just happened to find some sweatshirts at thrift, so that was a bonus. Easy = Awesome. What you need: two sweatshirts, pins, a ruler or good eyeball, sewing machine, not sidewalk chalk...maybe regular chalk though. I cut two inch strips vertically stopping before the ribbing at the bottom and the seams at the top. Next, turn you sweatshirt inside out if you haven't already. After cutting two inch wide strips out of your second sweatshirt weave them in and pin at the sides. Stitch the sides and cut off any excess strips. And you're done! It would probably look much cuter, styled...but sometimes a girl simply doesn't have the energy. I'm keepin it real. I also made one for my angel. Instead of cutting straight up and down, I went across and used scalloped edges. see the scalloped edges. I didn't measure this one...I just eyeballed it. Then I tore strips of this scrap cotton (it was an old sheet), and sewed the strips across the bottom. Don't forget to turn it inside out to work in the strips of fabric! Weave them through Then sew the strips at the top. If I do another one for her I am going to reduce the width of the strips to about 1 inch...maybe even smaller for this size of sweatshirt. But she still loves it. my model is unruly. On this one I will probably go back and top stitch all of them. She was already sticking her paws through the openings. Click on the I like to party tab and come link up your wonderful projects. Also, don't forget to enter the giveaway! I will keep it open until next Wednesday.

From slippers to silk pajamas, the boudoir trend was all over the spring runways. While some of this look's more lounge-y styles may seem difficult to incorporate into your own wardrobe, there's one that will never lead you astray: the silky, slinky slipdress A '90s favorite, this pared-down—but oh-so-chic—silhouette is one of the sexiest throw-on-and-go pieces you will ever own. Dress it down by layering a T-shirt underneath and sliding into a pair of sneakers, or head to a date night with a pair of stilettos. With slipdresses, simplicity is key—think solids, muted tones and neutrals, and little to no embellishment (though lace accents are always beautiful). It's a very easy way to instantly attain classic perfection. Scroll through some of our favorites from the runways, shop the look for yourself below and then slip into something sleek and pretty. Calvin Klein Collection's show was full of slipdresses in bright white, cream, and black. Balenciaga showed a full boudoir theme, from overalls to camisoles. But what truly caught our eye were the midlength slipdresses with subtle ruffles and statement seams. Tibi opted for simple tank silhouettes, but showed the trend in fall-favorite hues, like burgundy, navy, and hunter green. Givenchy
