As widespread lockdowns swept the globe earlier this year in response to the threat of COVID-19, intimacy became fraught. For artist Käthe Butcher, the loss of an embrace or casual peck on the cheek was incredibly difficult. “The pandemic affected everyone differently. I always thought I am not that kind of person getting scared or/and paranoid easily, but in March I did. I panicked and felt very alone, which was one reason why I left London at the end of March to go back to my family. More
A mantra is a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of "creating transformation". Every Monday I will post a new thought, idea, or focus for the week. When you need a breather from life, when you need a little inspiration, or when you're about to jump over the conference table and strangle your co-worker, remember the mantra. Monday Mantra: Be whole Every so often, I realize I pick myself apart, like I'm pieces of a person patched together rather than a whole and complete human; perfect, solid, with no fractures or cracks in my being. Sometimes, I find myself thinking I have a "good" side of my body, which I then compare to the "bad" side of my body, which is silly and stupid and wrong entirely. All of my sides are good because I am good, because we are all good. Sometimes, I think I am too right brained to fit in a left brained world, while other times I feel like I've lost myself in logic when I long for illusion. Many times I, more than anything else, feel slightly unbalanced in what I perceive to be a balanced world. At those time I feel lost, left out, not quite adequate enough. It is only in those moments when I accept the topsy-turvy world I've decided I'm living in that everything suddenly rights itself. That is when I let go of the thoughts of how things should be. Of how I should be compared to everyone else. It is only when I decide and accept that there is no "should"- there only "is." And when you finally accept the "is" everything becomes solid, whole, balanced. In those moments I finally see all the pieces of me, and all of those pieces are perfect. If you were the sitter, you were the most important person in the world for Lucian,” says David Dawson, director of the Lucian Freud Archive and former studio assistant to the prominent British painter, known for his visceral, acutely observed portraits. “That’s a very strong feeling, when someone pays that much attention to you. Safo. Cross stitch pattern. Counted cross stitch patter. Cross stitch supply. Hand embroidery pattern. PDF cross stitch. Cross stitch chart. Safo by Miquel Carbonell i Selva in PDF format. All my patterns are created using a combination of computer and hand correction and are designed in the ‘’ pointillist ‘’ style of art which is a technique of painting in which small distinct points of primary colors create the impression of an intermediate color. So, when you look at the embroidered piece from a few feet away all colors mixed together and it looks very realistic. The first photo is the original work of the artist and the second is the embroidered result, according to the pattern. The thread foto is from Mrs. Deb, which embroidered this pattern and she has the kindness enough to send me a foto. With your purchase you will receive with electronic delivery to your email box, 1. A PDF with picture that shows how it looks the finished piece. 2. A PDF with instructions and symbol key. 3. A PDF pattern with black and white symbols. 4. A PDF with thread lengths. Stitches: 275 x 400. Size, with 14 count Aida fabric: 19.64 x 28.57 inches, 49.89 x 72.57 cm. If you buy 2 patterns, please send me with a note or email, the title of the third pattern that you want for free. If you have any question or want different dimensions of the pattern or greater printing size please contact me. I will gladly accept your comments and feedback. Happy stitching And THANK YOU for your visit to my shop.
"Respect your elders" — I'm sure we've all heard this phrase a few thousand times in our lives so far. But the phrase exists for a reason, and I like to think it's because our elders know things about life that us youths may not. Sure, not every…
Learn some interesting things about the Impressionist Artists without getting to bogged down in technical artistic language. This focuses more on their lives than analysing their paintings, although I give plenty of my own opinions.
I asked you guys for some dialogue cliches that you hate.
I don’t often volunteer to do sewing projects for other people, but I was more than willing to make an exception for this project. We are so happy to have the “Catechisis of the Good Sh…
