A thoughtful and sophisticated gift for any bride to be. Purchase the threepence 'pin only', or threepence 'pin and sixpence' together. The lovely bridal pin features: Something old - a genuine British threepence coin, made of half silver and half copper nickel, featuring the english rose. Something new - a sterling silver plated pin to attach to a treasured wedding accessory or item on the bride's big day Something borrowed - a freshwater peacock pearl, borrowed from nature Something Blue - a Swarovski element bicone, to balance the darker hues of this design A coloured ribbon of your choice, to signify 'tying the knot'. This lovely design is mounted on a card that explains the rhyme and tradition, along with heart-felt wishes for the bride on her special day. We all know the wedding tradition that a bride should carry something old, new, borrowed & blue with her on her wedding day, but why?
There are so many fun ways to honor this tradition!
I had the opportunity to work with a lovely mother of the bride who had prepared something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue for her daughter. She was looking for a set of four boxes that she could use to package her gifts into a beautiful presentation for the bride. Taking into consideration the sizes of the gifts, I created a set of four nesting origami boxes, stacked on top of each other. These boxes had the labels "Old," "New," "Borrowed," and "Blue." Tied with a ribbon, I think this set of gift boxes turned out beautifully! These boxes can be found at my shop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/99422712/something-blue-wedding-gift-boxes
