“The doom in ‘doom pile’ is actually an acronym. It stands for “Didn’t Organize, Only Moved” – an experience many people with ADHD can apparently relate to when they try to organize their spaces, whether physical or virtual. Instead of things getting sorted to their rightful places, they end up in a stack along with other random, unsorted things to be organized later – or never.”

What would you do if you received a message from a stranger telling you that your daughter, who is travelling alone in Turkey, is having some sort of mental health episode? Dear Psychosis, is a confronting, dramatic and no-holds-barred account of a family's experience following their daughter's first-ever psychotic episode in Istanbul, and her later diagnosis of bipolar disorder. To some, it may be a warning, to others a story of hope. Most of all, it shows how the love and care given by strangers and family alike paved the way for their daughter's recovery and inspired the family to break the silence around mental illness. Dear Psychosis, is a powerful story that needs to be heard. | Author: Sarah Martin | Publisher: Sarah Martin | Publication Date: Mar 01, 2023 | Number of Pages: 248 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 0645644919 | ISBN-13: 9780645644913
R-controlled vowels are one of those topics that I am always looking for new activities and new ways to practice these skills. I like to have activities I can add to center after I have introduced the skill. I just finished a new packet with a variety of activities. I also made a free sample for your class. The new packet includes picture and word cards. You can use these when you introduce the skill. Later use the cards with your reading group. You can also set the cards up in center so students can sort words and / or pictures. Is your class wiggly? Another inside recess day? Why not attach the words and / or cards to a game like the bowling pins in the picture above. Students can work in partners or small groups. One person bowls the ball and knocks down pins. The student will say a word that has the same r-controlled vowel as the one on the pins knocked down. If there is a picture, students can say a word that rhymes. The word ladder can be used with your reading group. Attach the picture or r-controlled vowel card to a stick and give your student a copy of the blackline word ladder. They can use these for a Read the Room center. Students will find things that make the same sound as the picture or sound on the stick. Great way to get your students up and moving! There is a reading passage for AR, ER, IR, OR, and UR. Students will color code the words with r-controlled vowels. There are 2 writing options for each r-control vowel. This is an open-ended assignment. There are also quick prep word work assignments. Perfect for morning work, homework, and quick center to set up. Would you like to try it before you buy it? Sentence Classification Card Sort will have your students practicing sentence classification. Students will classify each of the 40 sentences and sort them into 4 categories – declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory – based on their components and tone. Great for an interactive notebook, students can fold up the sorting pockets and place the cards into the correct pocket. After the activity is over, pass out the answer cards and have students check their work. Students can then keep these answer cards in the back of their pockets for further review and practice later on. An alternative sorting mat is also included if you wish to use it instead of the pockets. Students simply lay the cards out on the mat according to the category they have chosen. You can even laminate the cards and mats and use them in a learning station year after year. This activity has 24 cards. Students sort them to determine if the triangles can be proven similar. If they can, which postulate or theorem can you use (AA~, SAS~, SSS~). Depending on your needs you can use 12, 18, or all 24 cards for your sort. The 12 and 18 cards sets are all triangles that can be proven similar. The 24 card set includes triangles that do not have enough information to prove or there is something incorrect (sides are not proportional). Can also be used as Flash Cards to help student recognize when they can use each postulate/theorem. Great beginning of class activity I have included an answer sheet for student to record their results. This makes it easier to walk around and check their work. A key is proved for all forms of the sort. The varying lengths for the sort works well for differentiated instruction. For Interactive Math Notebook (or Math Journal) I print the sort on colored sheets. Students cut out the square and decide which method can be used to prove the 2 triangles are similar. They write the answers on the back and have flash cards to study with at home. I have included a pocket for student to place their place cards in. Student glue the pocket into their math notebook and place the flash card in it for later practice. Possible Uses: - Bell work - Check for understanding - Alternative to Homework - Extra Practice - Activity for interactive notebook

Title: A Sort of LifeAuthor: Graham GreenePublisher: Book Club AssociatesPublication Date: 1971-2Format: Hardback with dust jacketCondition: This book is in a good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear. Reader's note This lovely purple edition of A Sort of Life is Graham Greene’s first autobiography. He writes ‘An autobiography is only a “sort of life” - it may contain less errors of fact than a biography, but it is of necessity even more selective: it begins later and it ends prematurely. If one cannot close a book of memories on the deathbed, any conclusion must be arbitrary, and I have preferred to finish this essay with the years of failure which followed the acceptance of my first novel.” This humorous and witty novel tells of Greene’s childhood, school and university days, and his early life as a writer and, although criticized for being oddly impersonal on some subjects, he does give insight to the personal demons he faced as a teen, including an account of several suicide attempts.
