This is a fine art print of my original oil and acrylic painting, "A Stitch In Time Saves Nine." The title of this piece refers to a common proverb that means if you sort a problem out immediately, it will save you a lot of extra work in the long run. This adage resonates with me in terms of unresolved trauma and how it can manifest years later in unexpected and potentially harmful ways. Tattoos are a recurring motif in my work as this sort of socially-acceptable means of self-harm/physical catharsis, and this embroidery imagery is a progression of that theme. The original oil painting measures 12x12 inches, and I have print options available in the original size of 12x12" as well as 8x8" and 16x16". If you are looking for a different size please message me for options. This fine art print is professionally printed on thick, archival quality, matte white paper. It is acid-free and digitally printed using an ultra high-quality ink jet printer. Each print will come signed and numbered by the artist. Print will come carefully rolled in mailer tube, ready to frame to match your decor. Please allow up to 5 business days for processing as prints are made to order. For fine art canvas giclee prints, please see my other listings. Image copyright of the artist.

I sort of stumbled into writing Spanking Romance. I mean, if you count a lifetime of being a closeted spankophile who also writes tumbling into it. But basically, I discovered the genre existed, immediately typed out a 25,000 word novella in a week, had it published 2 weeks later, and made a crap-ton of money Continue Reading
Struggling to improve your students spelling especially in the older years? Why not try a whole class sound sort focused on extended/ complex code. It will help them understand how words are segmented, why we have certain spelling patterns and how they are manipulated. Explicit synthetic phonics is crucial to enable all students to learn to read and write. This activity is one way you can take part in whole class explicit teaching, gain formative feedback on the sounds your students know and allow all students to see how words can be sorted according to the sounds and how they’re written. Once downloaded, cut out and laminated this resource can be used over and over again, year upon year. Students are given one word each and asked to silently read it and break the word into the different sounds. Then students orally sound out the word at the front of the class, sort it into the correct spelling pattern (sometimes this will require a discussion as some words may have two representations of the same sound within them) and write it down in their books according to the sort. Depending on your class size this can take a while (more than an hour) especially if it is a new concept. Remember to read your audience – if it’s becoming too long stop and return to it later that day or the following day. This will also allow you to see how much was remembered and what needs to be revisited. Once downloaded you'll find: Explicit in depth instructions for use within the classroom. Two different sets of 32 words focusing on the various different spellings of the /t/ sound including: t, tt, bt, ed, te, tte, ct, cht, th, pt. One set links to the words found within the soon to be uploaded wordsearch should you wish to link the two. One set is independent of the wordsearch should you wish to separate the two and extend their vocabulary etc. Labels representing the different spelling should you wish to print and laminate your own instead of writing them on the whiteboard. Teacher 'cheat' sheet to be used as a quick reference for sorting the spellings. Differentiated sound sort pages Break It Down page Morphology template DISTANCE LEARNING *** digital overlay coming soon! For those of you in lockdown and/ or distance teaching I believe it would be possible to complete this activity over a video call provided you gave your students the word or words prior to the lesson. You could potentially use it in a socially distanced classroom again as long as each student had their own laminated word which could be cleaned down for future use. If they had to remain in their seat they could sound it out for everyone else to try and write down in their books. You could then model the correct spelling or phoneme breakdown on the board to ensure accuracy. I haven’t had to plan for such a situation since I’m in Perth but this is what I would try if it was within my CDC regulations. Good luck!
