Vintage Osram Minispot #41601 Dieter Witte Magnetic Sphere Desk Lamp A staple of Western European households during the late 1970s, this quirky 'Minispot' accent lamp was made by Osram in an ivory-white and black plastic enclosure with a magnetic brushed aluminium spherical head. The 'Minispot' series, with its versatile modular design, comprised of several interlocking shapes. This specific lamp is model #41601, with a square-cube-like base with an angled cutout base. The eyeball shade is held in place by a strong magnet, allowing it to change its angle at will. It can also be taken out of its socket. It can be used at one's work desk, as a small reading lamp attached to an overhead shelf or on one's nightstand or even as a wall lamp. Since the lamp projects a concentrated spotlight-shaped beam of light when turned on, it can also be used to highlight a special object or an artwork. Origin: produced by Osram in Munich, West Germany in the 1970s, designed by Dieter Witte in 1978. Condition: in near-mint shape. The black plastic ring has a few light blemishes. No cracks, no dents, no marks or scratches. The lamp is in perfect working condition having been tested in our workshop. Square plastic base. Stainless steel globe lampshade. Magnet. Iron parts. Built-in 220v – 12v transformer. Electricity: 1 halogen bulb Osram Halospot 48, 1 x 20W maximum, 12 volt. The lamp also has a standard European plug.
