Postcards – not just for the fridge... Our cards are designed in Berlin and made from special, high-quality wood veneer. One part of the cards is produced with our specially converted laser in Berlin. The other part is made in a sheltered workshop in Germany. The cedar wood derives from sustainable forestry. The motifs can be easily detached, folded and assembled into 3-dimensional objects. Just like with paper, one can use a variety of standard pens, pencils, markers and crayons to write on the cards. The cards can be mailed using standard postcard tariffs.

Origamic architecture (OA) involves the three-dimensional reproduction of architecture, geometric patterns, everyday objects, or other images, on various scales, using cut-out and folded paper, usually thin paperboard. Visually, these creations are comparable to intricate 'pop-ups’; indeed, some works are deliberately engineered to possess 'pop-up'-like properties. However, Origamic Architecture tends to be cut out of a single sheet of paper, whereas most pop-ups involve two or more. Here's a variation on the tent fold card. Mum wanted something a little different for her craft classes and I'd seen this fold on QVC. The featured cards were gorgeous but they required a very large sheet of basic card stock. I wanted to use standard A4 card and here's what I came up with: A 120mm square card using two (UK) A4 sheets. There's a tutorial at the end of this post. I made the flower using the Woodware Dahlia flower punch and the flower centre - Woodware blink blink punch. The stamped background 'SU - Baroque Motifs' stamps, embossed with fine detail gold. Sentiments 'Big sentiments by Paula Pascual' embossed with fine detail gold. Tutorial You will need two A4 sheets of card 1) From the first cut a strip measuring 297mm (length of A4) x 120mm 2) Score A4 half fold (line 7 on the Eazi-Score board) in the centre and 25mm in ('box line 2' on the Eazi-Score board) from either end. Eazi-Score board- Diamond Card Craft 3) fold into a 'tent' as shown above. 4) From the second A4 sheet cut a strip across the width (210mm) x 120mm high 5) score the centre - A5 half fold (line 6 on the Eazi Score board) and A5 gate fold (line 3 on the score board) either end 6) Fold a s shown above 7) Attach the card to the piece you have just made. flap (1) is attached under the base flap (2) is attached on top Hope you have a go - I think I'll be playing with this fold a little more. Perhaps an aperture would be fun? Thanks for popping by and I'll be back soon - promise! X

Directions: Step 1: Cut a piece of white card stock 11 5/8 x 5 1/2' and then score at 3 7/8' and 7 3/4'. Fold using a bone folder along the score lines. Step 2: Place the large tag die from Album Tags and Accents Die at the top of folded card and cut just the top as shown in photo by placing the top cutting plate at the point where you want the cut to stop, then run it through your machine.Top Tip: Use removable tape to hold the die in place.Step 3: Place the die at the bottom of the card and run through the machine again to finish the card base. Use the smaller die to cut an insert out of decorative paper. The paper used for this sample is ivory from the Lush Lilac Collection. Step 4: Add glitter to panels using a sponge and adhesive and sprinkling with Ultrafine Crystal Glitter. Glue the inserts onto each panel and ink all edges with Cactus Flower Archival Ink using a sponge dauber. Use the inside die of the Eyelet Lace Frame Die set to cut orchid paper and glue one die cut to the center of each panel.Step 5: Stamp and die the cut flowers (Oakberry Lane Blossoms and Wildwood Florals) using Cactus Flower and Garden Patina Archival Inks and then sponge with the same inks to add color on the edges. Step 6: Stamp the leaves with Fern Green ink and sponge with Leaf Green, Cactus Flower and Garden Patina ink and then die cut. Color the backs of leaves with Leaf Green. Step 7: Then run flowers and leaves through shaping molds.Step 8: Glue 3 blossoms together for each Oakberry flower and pierce through the center of each to add stamen. The Wildwood Florals are single blossoms and shaped with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit. Top Tip: Push hard in the center of each Wildwood Floral to give the flowers a beautiful shape.Step 8A: Add 'Lettuce Entertain You' Prills to the center of Wildwood Florals. Add Rock Candy stamen to the Oakberry Blossoms. Add glitter to each flower and mist leaves with clear shimmer spray. Step 9: Stamp the sentiments 'On Your Special Day' and 'Best Wishes' from Celebrate Love Sentiments Stamp Set and die cut using the Ornamental Tags Die. Sponge the edges with Garden Patina ink. Add an orchid ribbon to the small tag. Add foam tape to each side of the large sentiment tag and stick it to the right panel bowing it slightly in the center. Step 10: Use flowers, leaves, and more stamens to make floral arrangements on each panel and let the glue dry. Use the metal tip on Dries Clear Adhesive to make small dots of adhesive here and there around each arrangement and add Prills to the adhesive finish. Tuck small tag into foliage on center panel.Have lot's of crafty fun making these fun shaped cards too! Come over to my blog and check out one of my fall pop up box card ideas using several newly released dies made by Rubbernecker Stamps.
Bendy cards are fabulous display cards that are perfect for creating three dimensional scenes. The sides of the card bend inwards allowing it to stand up on it's own and creating tiers that can be individually decorated. The finished card can also fold down flat for normal postage! There are hundreds of beautiful examples on the internet, so when you get the chance, I thoroughly recommend doing a Google or Pinterest search to get some ideas and inspiration. 1. Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 12" x 6". Score and fold at 4" and again at 8" to create a trifold card. 2. Measure and mark 3" from the bottom of the left hand panel. Use scissors or a craft knife to cut away the top section as shown in the photo below. Measure and mark 11/2" from the bottom of the right hand panel, and again, cut away the top section. 3. Flip the card over. Use a pencil to draw a 1/4" border beside the outer edge of both the left and right panels (see photo below). Now measure and mark a 1" reserve in the centre of each border - these reserves will become the tabs that hold the panels in place. 4. Use a small pair of scissors to trim away the excess cardstock leaving just the 1" tabs. 5. Flip your card back over again. It should now resemble the photo shown below. 6. Use a pencil to draw a vertical line on the centre panel, 1/2" from the right hand side. 7. Now bend the left hand panel so that the tab edge is flush with the vertical line you just drew on the centre panel. Make sure the bottom edges of both the left and centre panels are flush. Use your pencil to mark the position of the tab, as shown below. 8. Use a craft knife to cut a slit along the vertical line, between the two tab marks you added in the previous step. (I removed a thin piece of cardstock by cutting two parallel slits very close together). 9. The tab on the left hand panel should fit nicely into the slit you just cut. As you can see below, the panel now has a bend in it. 10. Open out the card again and flip it over. Use a pencil to draw a vertical line on larger panel (which is now on the right hand side), 1" from the fold line. See the photos below. 11. Flip the card back over again. Fold the larger panel, which is again on the left hand side, into the middle. You should be able to see the vertical line you drew in the previous step. 12. Now bend the smaller right hand panel so that the tab edge is flush with the vertical line. Make sure the bottom edges of the panels are flush. Use your pencil to mark the position of the tab, as shown below. 13. Use a craft knife to cut a slit in the same manner as you did in step eight. 14. Starting with the left hand side, place the tabs into the slits. You have just created a bendy card! 15. Now it's time to decorate. Here's what I did... I used the card blank as a template to mark the centre slit on a piece of X-Press It cardstock measuring 6" x 4". (To make this piece of card fit comfortably in the centre of my bendy card I removed a sliver from one side). Next, I stamped and coloured some flowers and a sentiment on the X-Press It cardstock. I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut some butterflies. I adhered my decorated cardstock to the centre panel of the card blank, making sure I lined up the slits carefully. Using some small, sharp scissors, I fussy cut around the top edge of the image leaving a small white border. I drew some wavy lines along the tops of the two panels... ... then cut along each line for a softer effect. I added another sentiment to the smaller panel and then adhered my butterflies with some strong glue. Done!
I don't make a secret of the fact that I am inspired by the creations of others...I often CASE (Copy and Share Everything -or- Copy and Selectively Edit) designs. For today's card I was
