Just before I left on vacation, a blog reader contacted me to see if I had a file for an adjustable "32 bump" scalloped circle. I have do...
SPIRELLI! What is SPIRELLI? No, it is not an Italian Pastry as my dear friend, Loretta asked. It is Dutch String Art. To me, it looks like t...
Remember making Spirelli as a kid? It's still fun years later! I have wound metallic thread around a flower shape cut from a Cricut....
I was using my Spirelle die from Spellbinders to add something different to this card. Then I made this card. Lots of fun, and easier...
Have you seen the Spirelli Technique. It's really interesting and SO fun to do. So many possibilities, so little time, eh? So....I started by using the 2 3/8" scallop punch - I made up a bunch of them and could hardly stop myself :). I made up a little board with all the different "sizes" although I'm sure size is the correct wording. But here's a scan of what I showed the gals. This shows the different "look" when you skip a certain number of scallops. Starting at the top, you would skip six scallops....then 5 scallops etc. until you...

Hi everyone! Today I have a cute & easy card style that's a little variation on my telescoping card tutorial here. It's round and it's big and it's fun and I decided to call it a Frisbee card! You make it the same way as the telescoping circles card, but all the circles are the same size except the back one, which can be any size. I made mine with my handy-dandy Circle Scissors Plus tool. Here's a photo of the Frisbee card closed: Ok, let's work on this fun Spirelli Technique! It's SOOOO easy! Once you start wrapping the...
A blog about crafting and handmade cards. Lots of quilling tutorials and craft tutorials for all ages.
Here is my card for the F4A198...Holly Greetings. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/free-all-f45/f4a198-holly-greetings-12-6-2013-a-t581797.html I used this time and old technique : Spirelli http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elNCuZsH9SE and punched the corners with an old TOMTAS punch. niki
My card for technique challenge 464. I made a spirelli circle window, with the image on the inside of the card.
The first time I tried to do this, I only skipped five scallops and it was too big. So I went back and skipped seven and it fits (but I used a LOT of cord!). More stamping at www.shoeboxstampers.com.
Love the spirelli
Toppertje!
For Pickletree's challenge, also another one for JeanneS. Base is 6 x 4, cut from the half sheet of Bazzill left on my desk. The second red panel is punched with SouthWest corner punch, gold cord wrapped around, layered onto black card and popped up on foam. Spirelli oval cut from green Bazzill bling, and wound round with gold cord. I added a Sizzix sprig of holly and a See-D's sentiment on a tiny tag.
More of the Spirelli circles embellished with bats. I used the dragon ridge fancy scissors to make the hourglass shape for the spider.
TLC 32 Spirelli Corners I would like to show you also a card made with a technique that is called "spirelli" here in Belgium : it is a peace of cardstock winded with wire in a pattern and it looks like this second card niki
I learned this new technique at a card class at a scrapbook convention. It was hard to photograph because of the reflection of the silver cardstock.
Fabulous challenge to-day. I love spirelli so this was a really fun project. I cut the spirelli forms from Nellie Snellen dies and used red Balger Metallic thread from Kreinik. The small stamp was hidden in my stash (it pays to 'bung-out' every once in a while!) from Stampendous. I used a Swiss Dot 'half' embossing folder from Cuttlebug and the greeting is a die cut from Elizabeth Craft Designs. A small 'fork bow' finishes the project.
