Let's take a look at how to sew the All Hallows quilt block. This traditional star block makes a beautiful secondary Pinwheel design when multiple blocks are sewn together. It uses only Half Square Triangles, Square in a Square and Flying Geese units to construct but there are a lot of points to match up!

These little inchies are great fun to work on and great for getting creative inspiration for other work. I have been tempted to do some for a while but it took signing up for a swap before I actually got around to doing some. For my first swap partner I made inchies with a blue theme in mind............... (click in the pictures for a closer look) For my second swap partner I made inchies with a black theme in mind..................... With this swap I have 2 partners each gets 12 inchies. So I made 16 of each colour theme and below are the 8 inchies I have decided to keep for myself. I figured I would soon build up a nice personal collection which I will probably frame. It will be nice to build up a collection in a variety of colours. In return for the ones I send I will hopefully receive 2 sets of 12 back, and hopefully again these will be in my colour preferences so if I build up a collection of these they should also make a nice collection to frame. So I have been thinking and wondered if anyone would like to swap 12 inchies with me, I would prefer fabric inchies, embroidered & embellished in your style. So if you are interested please leave a comment or email me privately.

This is my last 12" Saturday Sampler block for my "Chocolate Covered Strawberries" quilt...block #30. Block Name: Northern Flair (block #74) Block Pattern Source: Quiltmaker's 100 blocks magazine Block Designer: Gudrun Erla This was a fun block to sew. I felt like I was working on a jigsaw puzzle with all the little pieces in production and trying to get the 85 pieces in their proper places. I plan to make the quilt layout 5 blocks by 6 blocks but it was too dark last night to take a photo, so I'll do it sometime on the weekend. Today I am off to the blueberry patch!

Day #3! I played bridge today with friends at my house. Can you believe the COVID numbers are going up again?!! I talked to Ashley yesterday & she told me the number of cases in Maryland (where she lives) is 64 per 100,000 whereas in NC where I live the number is 197 per 100,000. We were planning a trip to Tennessee the end of August but their numbers are even higher - 265 out of 100,000. So, we have booked a condo at Ocean Isle that has a full kitchen so we will enjoy the beach, Sonny will enjoy the golfing and we'll cook most of our meals ourself, limiting our contacts. Here are a few more of the cards from Quarterly using the All Squared Away bundle. I can't tell if the watercolored background is DSP or made with the alcohol technique! The card is made with Soft Succulent. Another great one. Love the way she used the words on the card. I like the way she raised the middle image up with dimensionals and left the 2 yellow one adhered to the Crumb Cake card. This card had me stumped! Can you see the background on the yellow piece? That is a die that I didn't see but will be putting it on my list! It is on page 165 of the annual catalog & is called Stitched Greenery. It does not cut anything out but is just used for background. You can see a sample of it also on page 83. This is a die that definitely gets lost in the catalog. Hope you have a good weekend and create a few of your own cards!
One of the new products from Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog is the Floral Squares Dies. I purchased it right away, but am only now playing with it. I paired it with the neutral Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper (a FREE Sale-a-Bration $50 level choice!) With the Floral Squares Dies, you can make fun cards or adorable peekaboo elements with the individual pieces. You'll love seeing what you can do with the leaves and flowers. For these cards, I decided to bring the focus to the flower element, leaving the square a neutral black. I love the way they turned out!...

A quick post to share a card for a challenge before it closes in few hours. I started this one last Friday but didn't have time to finish it until today. The colors over at the Color Throwdown are just gorgeous. They are perfect sea glass colors as represented by their challenge logo. I'm a huge beachcomber when we are at the beach and I'm always looking down to see what I can find. I've got a pretty big sea glass collection but nothing yet in these beautiful colors. I'll keep looking! They've called the colors Aqua, Ice Blue and Pale Green. I've translated those into Stampin' Up! Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party. The All Squared Up bundle was a great way to show off these colors as backgrounds. I started with a Balmy Blue base and then added a piece of embossed Whisper White that I had in my card parts pile. This is the new embossing folder called Bark which gives a nice tree bark like texture. Next I stamped my backgrounds in each of the three colors. Then I cut out the square flower panels in Whisper White and adhered them to the colored backgrounds. I used the individual flower dies to cut out the flowers in more Whisper White and then embossed them with the retired Subtle embossing folder for a little bit of texture to make the flowers stand out since it was white on white. The squares are adhered to the background panel with the Pool Party one being popped on dimensionals. The sentiment from Biggest Wish is stamped in Versmark, embossed in white and then fussy cut. It is also popped up with dimensionals. I didn't have any ribbon that really went with this card so I left it off and just colored 2 small adhesive pearls with Blends markers to highlight the flower centers instead. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Stamps: All Square Away, Biggest Wish Ink: Balmy Blue, Soft Sea Foam, Pool Party, Versamark Blends: Balmy Blue dark, Pool Party dark Paper: Balmy Blue, Whisper White Accessories: Floral Square dies, Bark embossing folder, Subtle embossing folder (retired), pearls, dimensionals, white embossing powder, corner rounder
Where are my Rainbow Glimmer Paper lovers!? Isn't this Floral Squares card AMAZING!? I created it over the weekend while taking an online class from Kurstan!! We used the All Squared Away Bundle to create several projects! Slimline Card Instructions: Step 1: Die cut the 4 Floral Squares dies with Basic Black cardstock. Optional: you could put Adhesive Sheets on the back of the cardstock first if you wish. Step 2: if you did not use Adhesive Sheets, adhere the squares to the Rainbow Glimmer Paper with Glue Dots. Step 3: Use your paper snips

Here's a quick way to make a set of cards AND use up some of the stash of inked paper I have. Go through your stash of inked cards. I have a lot of these because when I have finished a project and there is still some distress ink on my craft mat, I spritz it and smooch a piece of card to use up the ink. I die cut the set of Floral Squares from Pinkfresh studio, and played around with the papers to see which ones I wanted to use. Here's the full set done. Unfortunately, this white linen card stock had warped. I must flatten it out with the weight of some heavy books. On this one, I kept a strip of the inked card to add to the edge. I love the flow of this one. Grounded in the earth ... floating towards the sky. My entry to ... ... The Flower Challenge : Use a die

Hi, I'm back again today with another card and challenge. This time I'm joining the current, Color Throwdown #644 Here is my card using this awesome color combo: So for this card I once again used the All Squared Away stamp set & Floral Square Dies from the new Stampin'Up! catalog. - I just think this is such a fun set of stamps and dies so I had to use them again. Details: Basic Black, Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight card stock & Whisper White. SU Ink: Daffodil Delight SU & Memento Tuxedo Black Other: Lemone' Glitter - Art Institute on the yellow flower. Black Diamond Stickles were used for the centers of the small gray flowers. Swiss Dot Embossing Folder & Foam mounting tape. The inside of the card - Note I could not get the camera to focus on this very well. That's it for this one.
Hello Peeps !!! Happy Sunday !!! Today's card is inspired by the colors from Party Pattern Hostess DSP. The dies I'm using is from the Floral Squares dies. 1. I started with a $-1/4 x 11" Calypso Coral card base. I already assembled the card in the picture after embossing the top of the card, glued the designer and adding strip of ribbon. 2. I die cut the square and also die cut the flower in Pale Papaya.. 3. I needed a square layering to go behind it so I used the Layering Squares dies. 4. I glued the floral die on Pool Party c/s and raised the flower with dimensional. 5. I glued the sentiment on Calypso Coral c/s. The sentiment is from the Season's Blessing stamp set. 6. I added the ribbon and rhinestones to finish the card. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.
