Instant Download Digital Printable St Patrick's Day Large Format Postcard No 4 contains: *1 .jpg file containing 7 x 11" image at 600 dpi resolution *1 jpg file containing 8.5 x 11" coordinating paper (The backing o the viewing sheets) (The files are in a zip format for download) This is one of my absolute favorite St. Patrick's Day vintage postcards from my absolute favorite St. Pat's Day series. It was done by Frances Brundage in the early 1900s. This card has been scanned at 600 dpi and enlarged to 7x11 and is perfect for a multitude of projects, from scrapbooking to decoupage to sewing to ATCs & altered art to making great gifts. It would be wonderful printed on a fabric sheet. The only limit really is your imagination. It is offered individually but there are three others and they're sold or a discounted price as a set. See the link below. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These files are for commercial use of one artist/craftsperson with some exceptions. They may not be sold or distributed AS IS, in whole or in part, (either free or paid), as: 1.) Digital products, including but not limited to clip art, templates, digital scrapbooking products, collage sheets or image collections (though they may be used in creating your own digital designs subject to the terms below); 2.) Physical Collage sheets; 3.) Physical Scrapbooking supplies (though they may be used in creating scrapbooking-for-hire projects); 4.) Part of print on demand products on services such as Zazzle, Cafe Press, SpoonFlower, et cetera. Paperdolls and gift tag sets, however, may be printed and sold as is as physical items. Most are also sold in MyDigitalDaydream for personal use. If you wish to utilize the tags (or any other item) as part of your shop's packaging and are not selling it as a product itself, you may purchase and use the personal use version for that purpose. You may utilize my images in digital products of your own creation as long as: 1.) Your digital product is flattened so the graphics cannot be easily extracted; 2.) My images are not placed on a solid color background only with no other overlapping design features; 3.) My images are only an element of your creation and not the essence of it. My digital product should comprise less than 50% of the design essense of your item. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To view other St. Patrick's day items in this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyDigitalDaydream2/search?search_query=patrick&order=date_desc&view_type=gallery&ref=shop_search Or for all items from my main shop page, here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/mydigitaldaydream2 You can also find a selection of St. Patrick's items in my other shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyDigitalDaydream/search?search_query=patrick&order=date_desc&view_type=gallery&ref=shop_search Or to view all items at MyDigitalDaydream: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyDigitalDaydream All items in MyDigitalDaydream are for personal use only, not for use for items for resale
St. Patrick's Day Leprechaun Craft perfect for St Patrick's Day! Included are crafts and writing activities
This March Pot 'O Gold Float STEM Challenge is a great way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the classroom. This St. Patrick's themed STEM challenge promotes team building, allows students to practice the engineering design process and allows students to be creative problem-solvers. This Challenge can be completed in less than an hour and uses common materials you already have in your classroom. Students will work together to design and build a pot to hold the leprechaun's gold using a square of aluminum foil. When the challenge time is up, the teams share and demonstrate their "pot" and measure how much "gold" the pot can hold before it sinks. All teams record observations of the designs in the Leprechaun Trap STEM Challenge journal booklet. This Pot 'O Gold STEM Challenge includes: Teacher Directions STEM Challenge slides to project or print STEM Challenge Journal booklet for your students Leprechauns to print 20-point Rubric This Challenge follows the Engineering Design Process cycle of Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and Improve. It also includes a reflection activity or discussion at the end of the challenge. Top O' the morning to ya! lol. Ok, I'm a little tired still since SOMEONE thinks that I need to get up at 5:30....surprisingly, it was the dog. And I really can't ignore him, or I'll have a "present" waiting for me to deal with later...lol. Any whosit. I know I haven't been doing Visual Plans this year...because, let's face it, I just don't have the time...but I did want to show you what we'll be doing this week....because for some reason, I have the time to do it this morning before my day is jammed packed! First, though, I want to show off some of my "arteest" skills. I'm getting better at drawing for my anchor charts, which used to be HORRIBLE...like, can't wait to get them off the wall and into the trash can horrible. lol. But this year, I've really put some "UMPH" into them... I "blame" Kristen (A Day in First Grade) because her anchor charts are always soooo cute, and I strive to be more like her...lol! We've been working out of my Jamie O'Rourke pack...I just love this story! We did some some summarzing, problem and solution...and here is character trait... here is my BEAUTIFUL anchor chart I made (lol - I'm totally impressed!)...I left the clues from the story OFF the anchor chart because I wanted to see if they could tell me how Jamie was clever OR lazy. Check out my pack in my Shop on the Blog or my TpT store Ok...now onto next week!! First off, for math, we'll be doing my Lucky Charms Math. (shop on the blog.... or my TpT store) It's just like my Fish Math and my Valentine Conversations Math. I'll also be doing a Shamrock Shake. I've done these the last few years and my kiddos always love them! I think I'll be doing this on Tuesday...to go with the Tasty Tuesday that I found from Denise (Sunny Days). This is such an awesome idea! I just found it, so I'm going to do a trial run for the next few months, and next year, I'll try to put it into full effect! I stole a picture from her blog so you can see some of what I'll be using this week...even though it's not the recipe, you'll get the idea. But check out her posts on it HERE. What am I doing for my Literacy centers the last week?? Wellllll....I'm finished with my March Common Core pack (I started the last week of February...) SO, I'm pulling from some of the centers I did last year. Why not? I already have them lying around, right?! You can check out my posts from last year (Here and HERE) on how I did centers last year...there are some great freebies and links to other fun activities on there too!! First, I will be doing one center from my March Common Core set... the I'm an Author for writing. I really like these. I have them keep the picture prompt page in their folder that way if I want them to do a quick writing activity, they have a ready-to-go prompt! So, they'll be doing a different one this week for me. They'll also be doing a Main Idea activity....this one is All About Kites. It's just like the ones I have in my Common Core packs, but instead of 3 different ones (narrative, opinion, and information), it's just the one informational. This is a freebie that I posted last year on my visual plans. You can snag it HERE or you can go to the post and get it...there are more freebies over there, so you should go THERE. I will also be using some centers from my Pot O' Gold Literacy Centers pack. We'll be doing the Fact and Opinion and Sentence Stretcher. I'll also be doing the Scrambled Sentences Pack that is in the bundle! You can check out my St. Patrick's Day centers on TpT store or my Shop on the Blog. For whole group, I actually plan on using a WHOLE bunch of different stuff... one from my girl, Kelley (Teacher Idea Factory). I seriously love EVERYTHING this girl does. If I taught with her, I would be one of those annoying teammates that expected her to give me everything she did! lol I have SOOOO many resources for St. Patrick's Day because I might have a slight addiction to TpT resources...lol, and as I do them, I'll post them on my IG and FB...make sure you follow my instagram and facebook account! (look at the top of my blog for the link!)

I blogged just a few days ago about several songs and activities I use for St. Patrick's day and here are a couple others! 1. The Rakes of Mallow or "Irish Stew" The music is from the Rhythmically Moving CD's and Kriske and DeLelles have a version of this in Book 2 of Gameplan. The version of the dance my students use is a "mashup" of theirs along with some other moves! Partners side by side in a circle, holding a pair of rhythm sticks. A: Walk forward clockwise for 8 beats, heel, toe, tap, tap, tap ( qq n q ), heel, toe, tap, tap, tap ( qq n q ), turn and walk forward counter clockwise for 8 beats, heel, toe, tap, tap, tap ( qq n q ), heel, toe, tap, tap, tap ( qq n q ). Say, "Forward, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, heel, toe, tap, tap, tap, heel, toe, tap, tap, tap". Heel, toe: One heel on the floor with toes sticking up, take the same foot and tap the toe on the floor in front of other foot. Next heel and toe use the opposite foot. To simplify, say, "jump, jump" in place of "heel, toe". B: Click sticks 4 beats (sword fight!) with partner, stir (make a stirring motion to stir your Irish Stew) 4 beats, do-si-do 8 beats repeat by turning to opposite and perform with neighbor. 2. The Rattlin' Bog I was introduced to this song a long time ago as a child by my favorite Maine musicians, Schooner Fare, and still LOVE it! The version I use in the classroom is much faster, as each verse speeds up dramatically and it is beloved even by my fourth graders! This is a good version with lyrics on the screen: 3. Irish Washerwoman Dance This is a fun, high energy dance for your older kiddos and the description of the dance moves is included in the notes below the video on youtube!
Erin Go Bragh and Happy St. Patrick's Day! Capture your students' enthusiasm for the holiday and use it to get them engaged in math learning. Your students will put their knowledge of coordinate systems, coordinate graphing, and ordered pairs to work creating a mystery picture with a seasonal theme for St. Patrick's Day. Students plot points from a list of ordered pairs and then connect the dots to form a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The coordinate plane includes positive numbers only. There are seven pages included: cover, teaching notes, a page listing coordinates to be plotted, a blank graph, a completed graph page answer key, a colored version of the completed figure, and a copyright statement. This is an easy ordered pairs activity, so it's a good starting point for beginners or intermediate learners. You may also want to check out the jack-o-lantern graph, which is another coordinate graphing activity for beginners. If you like this resource, please leave feedback and check out my other products. Laminate for durability. Two versions of non-standard “rulers” are provided (with and without numbers) for the linear measurement activities. This is played in a similar manner to the Guess Who game. You will need: 2 copies of the board containing St. Patrick’s Day items., 2 copies of the page with the Irish flags cut out (or bingo chips)., 1 file folder. Give each student a board. Put a barrier (such as a file folder) between them so they can’t see each other’s boards. One student chooses a picture on his/her board. The other student asks yes/no questions until they determine the chosen picture. Barrier games are an excellent way to teach descriptive expressive language skills as well as question formulation skills. Pragmatics are also targeted with this activity. Erin Go Bragh! Tracy W. Here's a great freebie for anyone wanting to address multiple meaning words during St. Patrick's Day. In this themed activity, you can use them as flashcards or play a game with the specialty cards. For the game, each student takes turns picking a card from a pile. If they find a word on their St. Patty's Pocket, they must identify 2 meanings for the given word. If they do it correctly, they get to keep the card. If not, the card goes back in the pile. This game continues until all the cards are selected. Be aware of the specialty cards. If you select a "Blarney" card, you must give one of your cards to another player. If you find the "Top O the Morning" card, you get to steal a card from another player. Enjoy practicing multiple meaning words and having fun at the same time! Included in the download: * Directions * 36 pocket cards with multiple meaning words * 6 specialty cards (3 Blarney, 3 Top O the Morning) Happy Speeching! This is a BUNDLE of all of my St. Patrick's Day Write the Room CVC Short Vowel Phonics Games. If you own any of the individual vowel games, do not buy this bundle! All of the Write the Room Short Vowel Phonics games come with two different versions. See the descriptions below. Version One: 16 cards with a picture clue and a letter on it (A-P). Students will use the recording sheet to find a card around the room, identify the picture, and write the CVC word next to the correct letter. This version includes two different recording pages. One has the phrase “short a” on it and the other does not. This is helpful in the event you are trying to have students determine the short vowel sound without giving them the hint. Version Two: 16 cards with just a picture clue. This version would work well in a center or a small group, where having the letter is not necessary. Students will use the recording sheet to pick a card, identify the picture, and write the CVC word next to the same picture. This version includes two different recording pages. One has the phrase “short a” on it and the other does not. This is helpful in the event you are trying to have students determine the short vowel sound without giving them the hint. (Type the number 16 on a card, have them record a problem that would have the sum of 16 on their recording sheet). The possibilities are endless! This activity can be posted around the classroom like typical "write the room" activities during center time, or you could place cards on your students' desks and have the whole class complete it as a scoot. Card number 20 has a riddle and the last card is a pot of gold for your students to find! I have included 2 options for card number 20 to be sure that they would work in any classroom: option 1 is to hide the pot of gold card where you write/post the date in your classroom, and option 2 is to hide the pot of gold card where you have your students' birthdays posted in your classroom. Thank you so much for downloading! <3 * Did you know you can earn TPT credits towards your future purchases just by leaving a rating and feedback on this product after you have purchased it!? :) * Find me on Instagram: @LiveLoveandTeach www.LiveLoveandTeach.com

Every year, my students joke that my room is ready for St. Patrick’s Day all year round (maybe I’m a bit obsessed with shades of green). On the other hand, my read aloud shelf always looks a bit bleak during the month of March. In fact, the only three St. Patty’s Day books I own are Tomie DePaola’s Jamie O’Rourke and the Big Potato, Mary Pope Osborne’s LeprechaunIn Late Winter and the accompanying Magic Tree House Fact Tracker #21:Leprechauns and Irish Folklore. All three are stellar additions to any classroom library but I’m going to hone in on DePaola’s Irish folktale about Jamie O’Rourke.
