This follow up worksheet will fit right into your Structured Literacy Programme. Following the Structured Literacy scope and sequence (implemented in NZ/Aus) it focuses on the letter sound 'd' from Stage 2. It is perfect to use as an independent follow up to your guided SL lessons as your students progress through the stage. The worksheet follows the basic sequence used in a Structured Literacy lesson: Read the sound - children can practise reading the new sound they have learnt. Write the letter - children can practise writing the letter associated with this new sound. Read the word - children can decode a word that contains the new sound. This CVC word only contains letter sounds from the current stage (2: b, h, n, o, d, l, g, v) & previously taught stages (1: m, s, f, a, p, t, c, i). Draw the word - children can draw a picture to prove they have decoded the word correctly and know what it is. Colour the picture - children can colour in the picture. Write the word - children can encode the spelling of the word for the picture they have just coloured in. This CVC word only contains letter sounds from the current stage (2: b, h, n, o, d, l, g, v) & previously taught stages (1: m, s, f, a, p, t, c, i).
