Hello there, I am delighted to be joining Altenew today for the July 2023 Release Video Hop. There is so much releasing - stamps, dies, stencils, inks, scissors and new press plates, which is what I am focussing on today (along with a few of the new inks). PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. Please see below for my full disclosure. Like I say, I am focussing my projects today on the new Altenew Press Plates. These work with the Spellbinders Betterpress System so you can create a letterpress look. Letterpress is essentially pressing a plate into cardstock, so that you get an indented or debossed look. You can do this with or without ink and in my video, I show the results of both, as well as the cards below. SIMPLE LETTERPRESS WITH FRESH DYE INKS My first card uses the Altenew Floral Engravings Press Plate, pressed onto a 100% cotton A2 panel using the new Altenew Pool Fresh Dye Ink. I pressed it once in the bottom right hand corner, flipped the plate over and pressed it again in the top left. I then simply cut the panel down to size and adhered it to a US A2 sized white card base with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I stamped a sentiment from the Altenew Sentiment Strips Stamp Set on to black cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Pure White Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into strips and simply adhered to the card with more foam tape. LETTERPRESS WITH INK BLENDING My second card uses the same Altenew Floral Engravings Press Plate but this time pressed onto the paper using the black ink that comes with the Betterpress System. I used this ink as I wanted it to be waterproof. I then added ink blending on top using the new Altenew Golden Sunset Fresh Dye Ink Bundle and an Altenew Small Ink Blending Tool. I spritzed the panel using water and the Altenew Fine Mister Bottle. Once the panel was dry, it was adhered to a US A2 sized white card base using Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I then stamped and heat embossed the same sentiment as the first card and adhered it on top. I really love the simplicity of these first two cards. Although difficult to see the letterpress in the photos, in real-life, it is so pretty! LETTERPRESS WITH METALLIC INK I thought I would experiment with my last card and use metallic ink on black watercolour paper. Whilst not a perfect impression, I think it is so pretty! I pressed the Altenew Dainty Flower Garden Press Plate on to black watercolour paper using Altenew Rose Gold Pigment Ink. I made sure to press the ink pad very lightly onto the plate as this is a foam pad and you could easily ink it up too much! The panel was then simply adhered to a US A2 sized white card base with Altenew Instant Dimension Foam Tape. I stamped the same sentiment but this time on to white cardstock using Altenew Embossing Ink. I applied Altenew Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip and adhered to the card with more foam tape. I finished off with a couple of gems. Hello friends. The Group of Seven Cardmakers is a group of 7 friends that get together each month and try a new technique...this month it was Dry Embossing with Re-inker Water Coloring. Sounds intriguing, doesn't it?! The cards were absolutely BEAUTIFUL and I really wanted to try it, but there was one drawback for me...using black ink on the inside of your embossing folders! I basically only use Versafine Black Onyx ink and it stains! I could care less if it stains my stamps...I just clean it really well and they still stamp beautifully time after time. After reading Bonnie's post (HERE) and her experience with using permanent black ink on her embossing folders, I almost didn't try this technique! I tried Bonnie's faux version and came up with this... It's a nice enough card, but I didn't like it! I was trying to be too controlling! I used SSS's Pepperberry embossing folder and dies along with Lindy's Magicals instead of re-inkers, and painted the die cuts and then fit them into the embossing folder with a piece of black cs I had already embossed. The Magicals have a shimmer to them because of the mica flakes in the powder (you activate it with water and then paint with it), so in real life the shimmer is very pretty, but again, it just wasn't the technique like all the gals had done. And it bugged me for a few days because I really wanted to try it, but just didn't want to stain my embossing folders and have the ink come off on other cards. So after mulling it over for a few days, the light bulb went on, and here's 3 cards I came up with... I stuck with using the Magicals rather than re-inkers and water colored my cardstock with Red Hot Poker Orange and Autumn Maple Crimson from the Autumn Leaves collection. Once it was dry, I inked up the flat side of TH's Poinsettia 3D EF with SU!'s Basic Gray ink, which is a dark gray and a firm foam pad, so it inked up the flat side of the folder beautifully! I probably could have inked it up again to achieve an even darker background, but I was so happy with the way it turned out that I didn't want to tempt fate and try to line it up perfectly again! I matted it with some gold mirror cs and attached to a black card base and then finished with a gold embossed sentiment from C&9th's Festive Flower stamp set. This one didn't photograph as well but it really is pretty with the blues (Tibetan Poppy Teal) and greens (Ponderosa Pines Olive) and SSS's Vine Canopy embossing folder. I used SU!'s Night of Navy ink to ink up the embossing folder for this one, and I did get brave and inked it twice! The sentiments are from Honey Bee's Bitty Buzzwords stamps and dies. Once again the shimmer from the Magicals is SO PRETTY!! For this card I used SSS's Fall Foliage ef and then the Magicals again in Autumn Maple Crimson, Cattail Copper Brown, & Red Hot Poker Orange. I used SU!'s Blackberry Bliss ink on this one and I really think it might be my favorite! The shimmer and color on the leaves truly makes me think of the beauty of Autumn and what a master artist God is! I cut my panel in half (so I could make 2 cards) and attached it to a full panel that was embossed on plain white cardstock...it really makes the colors stand out next to the white! I added a strip of gold mirror cs between the two for definition and then finished with a foiled sentiment from Spellbinders. So I went a little rogue and didn't quite follow the instructions exactly, but I am so pleased with the way these cards turned out...LOVE them! Thanks so much ladies for all your BEAUTIFUL inspiration that got me going...I enjoyed every minute of this FUN technique!! Thanks for stopping by today ... I love it when you do!

Hello again friends! Today I have a card to share with you which uses a new to me type of product – the Postage Collage Die. Such a fun product which was released I think about the middle of …
Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing the fabulous September Small Die of the Month. This is one of my favorites from the year so far! The set is called Hiking Through the Meadows and features a pair of boots and a variety of fall foliage to place inside, or separate, so many options! Check out what I made. I just love how it turned out! For my foliage and boots I used some new patterned paper and coordinating cardstock I ordered. I used a plaid piece for part of the boot and as the background and all the leaves and flowers were die cut from coordinating cardstock. I rarely buy cardstock paper packs cause I have a TON of cardstock, but gotta say I love that all the fall colors and tones already match. Made the die cutting go 2 times faster! Be sure to check out the other Monthly Club Kits. New subscribers can place their orders on September 6th. Before I go, have you checked out the Coming Soon section on the Spellbinders store? On September 10th there will be the 2023 Crafty Advent Calendar launching AND a brand new box called the 12 Days of Stitchmas! Mark your calendars, these will be fast sellouts! You can also shop both on Scrapbook.com. 12 Days of Stitchmas available now!! 2023 Crafty Advent Calendar available now!! "Maart roert zijn staart" is het thema van de lopende challenge bij Knutsels en Kadootjes. De opdracht is daarom dat er een staart op je kaart te zien moet zijn. Op deze kaart zijn er 3 te vinden, van de muisjes die bezig zijn om zichzelf te versturen, zo lijkt het althans.
