Blog Hop Links: Hello, fellow bloggers. For Decembers Thank You Card Blog Hop, I choose to use ENJOY THE MOMENT STAMP SET that came in my swag bag for OnStage. When I opened up the package and saw the stamp, I was less than thrilled. What was I going to do with this stamp! However, I started using the stamp set and have fallin in love with the stamp set. I tried to look up the names of the seed pods but was unsuccessful. The only pod name I know is the Poppy Pod (it is the taller stamp with the three pods). I want to thank Cindy Brumbaugh (cindyleebeedesigns.com) for the fold design and inspiration for Decembers Blog Hop Card. Well hello my lovely cardmakers out there, welcome to the Blog Hop for March, this month we were asked to CASE each other. To CASE in crafting community can mean different things - Copy and Share Everything, Copy and Selectively Edit, Copy and Steal Everything, obviously I prefer the first 2 to the last one. I love to credit those who have inspired me. As someone wisely said, "there is nothing new under the sun". All our art and creations have been influenced and inspired by others. Even when we think we have hit on an original idea, you may discover that someone else has too. Anyway, on with the crafting. I decided to CASE a card by Barry from Mitosu crafts. It's called the Floating Side Panel card, and his tutorial can be found {HERE} I took the measurements and created this. I used the Thoughtful Expressions stamps and Dies 162822 that are in the Stampin' Up! Mini catalogue. The whole suite is beautiful and a joy to work with. I stamped the large floral stamp with Petal Pink ink on the same coloured card stock and used that as the background layers and stuck them onto the Gray Granite card base. The bird was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink on Pool Party card stock and large flower clusters with Calypso Coral ink on the same coloured card stock. I particularly like how the flower die can be placed on the flower image to add some dimension. The hummingbird wings was layered to give an impression of flight, and the Iridescent Pearls 158987 were a lovely finishing touch to the flower centres. To see how I made the card you can watch this tutorial Thank you so much for looking at my card, here are the other hoppers, I am looking forward to seeing what they create. Orchid Oasis with Ranunculus Romance Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are starting afresh to work though all the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, although as we begin a new round, we are featuring the new In Colours for 2022 to 2024. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a deep purple with rich blue undertones called Orchid Oasis. As mentioned, Orchid Oasis is part of the In Colour Family and is a beautifully rich blue purple. This colour is gorgeous on its own or with touches of gold. It is going to be fun over the next 2 years to explore colour combos that go well with this colour. Orchid Oasis is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads, Spots & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, In Colours 2022-2024 Designer Series Papers, Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes and Designer Series Paper, In Colour Bakers Twine, Shimmer Ribbon, Glimmer Paper and Matte Decorative Dots. The card below has used Orchid Oasis Classic Stampin' ink, Card-stock, Stampin' Write Marker plus a range of other non-PP bits and pieces. Here is the card showcasing the delightful Orchid Oasis: Isn't Orchid Oasis a beautiful colour. CARD 1: This card shows the beauty of Orchid Oasis through some tone on tone stamping, ink blending and stamping on white, as well as some splatters. I loved playing with Orchid Oasis this week. It is a beautiful colour. My time to create was very short for this project given commitments over the past week so I decided to only use the featured colour and Basic White with touches of Gold. Orchid Oasis card-stock and ink was used with some partial background stamping with the scripty stamp from the Ranunculus Romance stamp set. Some Basic White card-stock was die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die. Some Orchid Oasis ink was blended over the LHS using a Blending Brush, then the panel was stamped with the Eiffel Tower and script stamps. Some splatters were added using an Orchid Oasis Stampin' Write Marker. The beautiful Ranunculus stamp was stamped a couple of times in Orchid Oasis Classic ink. Sadly, I couldn't find my Ranunculus dies, so I fussy cut the full flower spray and the two larger flower heads from the second stamped image. Having lost time trying to find my dies I had to alter my design quickly and use dies that were easily at hand. Some Gold Foil was die cut with one of the little floral sprays from the Honey Bee Bloom dies and the larger leaf die from the Meadows dies was used on some Basic White card-stock. A little Orchid Oasis ink was blended over the white leaf die cut. The fussy cut flowers and the leaf were partially Gold heat embossed on the edges using Versamark ink, Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. The larger ticket die from the Sports Events dies cut a label from the Vellum Layering Designs. The leaf and flowers were arranged over the vellum label and the individual flower heads were layered over the flowers with Mini Dimensionals. A double bow was tied with the gold Simply Elegant Trim and attached with Glue Dots. A sentiment from the same stamp set was White Heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Orchid Oasis card-stock and then fussy cut. Some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels added a little shimmer, together with a splattering of Wink of Stella (which is so hard to capture in the photos). My time completely disappeared and so I didn't have a chance to work on the card inner or envelope. It will happen but later. I sincerely thank Emma Goddard, UK Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and past Artisan for her inspiration. I so love Emma and her amazing talent and noticed as this card came together her definite influence. Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value the time you spent with me. If you live in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's new 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue and or the January - June 2022 Mini Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send them to you. Please don't hesitate to make contact with any other queries about these projects or Stampin' Up!. There is more Orchard Oasis creativity. Old Olive with Thoughtful Expressions & Enduring Beauty Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order, focussing on one colour each week. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a muted green called Old Olive. Old Olive is part of the Regals Colour Family and is a wonderful yellow green that can coordinate with so many colours. This colour is lovely for leaves, trees and anything requiring a muted green. Old Olive is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Marker; Stampin’ Blends Combo; Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1, Regals Designer Series Paper, as well as Just Kiddin’ and Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Papers; Forever Friends and Rustic Christmas Countdown Kits; Loose Daisy Embellishments and Ombre Matt Decorative Dots. Old Olive ink, card-stock, Stampin’ Write Marker, Stampin’ Blends Combo and Ombre Matt Decorative Dots have been used in the creation of these projects plus a range of non-Old Olive bits and pieces. CARD 1: The first card features one of the delightful new bundles from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalogue that launched earlier this month. There is so much to love in this catalogue. Do check it out. (I would love to help you if you don’t have a demonstrator already). Floral images from the gorgeous Thoughtful Expressions stamp set were stamped in Gray Granite Classic Stampin’ ink on Basic White card-stock. These images were coloured with Stampin’ Blends combos, including Old Olive for the leaves, plus Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lolly combos. As I knew I would be fussy cutting some images to add a second layer, I fussy cut all the images for consistency. The Thoughtful Expressions dies not only contains dies to cut out all the images, but also fine leaves and a loopy flower. These were cut from Basic White card-stock. The dies also includes layering scalloped circle labels - so gorgeous. A mid-size label was also cut from Basic White card-stock. A Basic White card front was dry embossed with the wonderful Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. (I think the last photo at the bottom of this blog shows the embossing best.) The label was splattered with Old Olive ink from a Stampin’ Write Marker and then popped up with Dimensionals on the embossed background. The coloured and die cut pieces were arranged using both Multipurpose Liquid Glue and some Dimensionals. The two larger flowers had extra flowers layered on top to give extra dimension to these flowers. A sentiment from the stamp set was white heat embossed on Old Olive card-stock and partially cut with the trimmer and partially fussy cut. The final touches included a double White Bakers Twine bow and a few Old Olive Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (from the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots from the Annual Catalogue). The card inner for writing a personal message is simply Basic White card-stock decorated with some Blends coloured and fussy cut images and a Gray Granite stamped sentiment. (A stamp from the Notes of Nature stamp set was sitting on my crafting space and seemed to be just right for the card.) A Basic White C6 envelope was stamped with the Thoughtful Expressions floral image also in Gray Granite ink. CARD 2: I recently saw Jacque Williams create a “one layer card” using 2 layers. As you may know, I love creating multi layer cards with dimension, and really struggle to create simple cards; however, Jacque inspired me to challenge myself. This card is in the style of a “single layer card” but with 2 layers, however, I couldn’t resist some twine and embellishments. Last week I used the new Enduring Beauty stamps. This week I have used the coordinating stencils without the stamped outline image. Like Jacque, I have added a seperate card front. I believe this gives the card extra body and easily enables certain techniques to add texture. The coordinating Enduring Beauty stencils were used with some of Stampin’ Up!s wonderful Blending Brushes. The flowers were coloured with Bubble Bath and Berry Burst Classic inks and the leaves with Old Olive ink. Some light splattering was added with an Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker. The sentiment comes from a Saleabration stamp set - Softly Sophisticated stamps. This set is paired with an embossing folder and can be chosen with an order of at least $180.00. The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite ink. To give some added texture / interest, the scoring blade on a Stampin’ Trimmer was used to score a double border a little in from the 4 edges (ie 5mm & 8mm in from each edge). Also each edge of the card front was carefully run along an Old Olive ink pad to give a fine border, instead of mounting the card front onto an Old Olive card-stock layer. As mentioned, I couldn’t resist tying a double length of white Bakers Twine around the folded centre of the card, tying it in a bow at the front, a little down from the top. The addition of a few Old Olive Ombre Matte Decorative Dots don’t technically fit in with one layer, but they do add a little ‘something’. A Basic White card inner (not shown) was decorated with a thin stencilled strip, cut from the card front and another sentiment, this time from the Enduring Beauty stamp set. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with the floral outline image in Old Olive ink. Thank you so much for dropping by on you way around the Colour Creations Blog Hop. While again we are a smaller group, I am sure there will be so much Old Olive inspiration. Don’t miss checking out each blog. To continue with the Old Olive blog hop just click the "next" graphic below to be taken to the blog of a special lady, Kate Morgan. I am looking forward to checking out Kate’s creation(s). I love seeing everyone’s' projects - there will be so much inspiration. I do hope to see you next week when we will be featuring Orchid Oasis as we continue the weekly 2023-2024 Colour Creations Blog Hop series. Stay well, stay safe and be kind to yourself and others. Early Expresso with Nature's Harvest & Quiet Meadow Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a dark brown called Early Expresso. Early Expresso is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a wonderful colour for trees, twigs & the like and great when creating for fellas. It is an essential colour, however, not one I usually choose to hero on a project. This week's project was inspired by silhouettes seen while walking my dog at dusk. Early Expresso is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Watercolor Pencils; the Neutrals & Gingerbread & Peppermint, Blackberry Beauty, You're A Peach, Painted Christmas, Beauty of the Earth, In Good Taste Designer Series Papers; Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Card pack; Gingerbread & Peppermint Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, Blackberry Beauty Ephemera pack and Faux Suede Trim. The card below has used Early Expresso card-stock and Classic ink, plus a range of other bits and pieces. In accordance with its name, Early Expresso is reminiscent of strong black coffee, so I was going to use the Love You More Than bundle for tonight's project. I also was thinking of using Painted Christmas Suite as the pine cones would stamp brilliantly in Early Expresso. I still want to try out my ideas, however the Early Expresso project ended up by using Early Expresso to represent nature's silhouettes as the sun is setting. The blended background was created on a piece of Shimmery White card-stock using Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight and Night of Navy Classic Stampin' inks with Stampin' Up!'s delightful Blending Brushes. Water droplets were flicked over the blended background and once dry some White Craft ink was also flicked over the background. The little sketchy grassy flowers from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set were stamped over the base of the background in Early Expresso ink. A range of plants were die cut from Early Expresso card-stock using a mix of dies from both the Harvest and Meadows die sets. Each piece had White Craft ink added on the edges with a Sponge Dauber to add sense of dimension. They were adhered in place with a mix of Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Dimensionals. Strips of both Early Expresso card-stock and Copper Foil paper were added to the left edge of the card-front panel and then it was mounted onto a piece of Basic White card-stock. In turn this card front was mounted on a Sahara Sand card-stock base. A sentiment from the Nature's Harvest stamp set was stamped in Versamark onto an off-cut from the blended background and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder and a Heat Gun. The sentiment was fussy cut and added to the card with thin strips of Dimensionals, A bow was tied with Gold Elegant Trim and White Crinkled Seam Binding and added with Glue Dots to the left of the sentiment. The final touch was the addition of some Genial Gems and a little butterfly die cut from Copper Foil. The card inner was created with a piece of Basic White card-stock and a few left over die cut Early Expresso plants; as well as an off cut of the blended background and a thin strip of Early Expresso card-stock. I ran out of time to create a custom made envelope. My plan is to use the DSP shown in the photos as a backdrop to create a specially sized envelope . I hope you find some inspiration through my card and or the whole Blog Hop. We all enjoy creating to share with you each week. If you live in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and or the July - December 2021 Mini Catalogue & Sale-a-bration Leaflet (don't forget Sale-a-bration finishes soon), then let me know and I will be delighted to send them to you. Please don't hesitate to make contact with any other queries about this project or Stampin' Up!. There is more Early Expresso creativity. To continue with the blog hop, click on the "next" graphic below to be taken to the blog of a very special and talented friend, Rachel Palmieri. As always, I am looking forward to checking out Rachel's creation and everyone else's. I do love seeing everyones' projects - so many ideas and such great creations Hope to see you next week when we will be featuring Flirty Flamingo; and don't forget that the AWH Heart of Christmas Blog Hop is launched every Monday evening at 8pm AEST until mid-December. Stay well, stay safe and be kind to yourself and others.
