"Stitchcraft Large Sizes 22" contains 13 knitting patterns for bust sizes 37-44 inches. The booklet dates from the post-War era due to the "Authoised Economy Standard" printed on the back of the booklet. This ended in 1947, and judging from the fashions I would place the publication date to the same year. Complete 28-page booklet scanned into a high resolution PDF file. An example of contents include: - bobble ribbed cardigan - all embracing dolman - knitted jacket and two piece suit with arrow detailing - classic twinset - amazingly delicate bed jacket - and more! Today’s free vintage knitting pattern (well, crochet), is from Stitchcraft No.124 (December 1942). I love how the model is leaning through a porthole and has a looking glass. Her hair and makeup are very good examples of 1940’s style too. Couldn’t you imagine this with a little sailor dress, or the the Wearing History Sailor Playsuit?
Suggested Needles: 2.25mm, 3.25mm Suggested Yarn: Fingering Size: Women's (35 Bust) Pattern source: 1937 Stitchcraft If you knit or crochet one of these patterns, please let me know. I’d love to see a photo! Are your measurements not the size of the pattern, not to worry, all patterns can be resized. Need help resizing the vintage pattern you just downloaded? Then you should check out By Gum By Golly's series on her blog about how to resize vintage patterns. I use her tutorial often. - http://blog.bygumbygolly.com/2011/02/briar-rose-vintage-kal-resizing.html When printing the pattern: Not all patterns are exactly the same size and you may need to resize your PDF file to 'fit to printable area'. This will ensure the type and photo are big enough when you print them. I do make every effort to ensure the patterns are a nice comfortable size, but everyone’s computer and printer are different. When to find your downloadable pattern: After you purchase your pattern you will find it in the Purchases sections of your Etsy account. If you are having issues downloading the pattern, I can email it to you. You can send me a Personal Message with your email address and I will send it to you.
