This listing is for a long legs round Senufo stool. No two stools are the same. We are so excited to announce our newest piece of decor, handmade with heart for your home! These beautiful, handmade stools are carved from a single block of wood. Origin: Ivory Coast (Senufo Tribe) Craftsmanship: 100% Handmade Age: Approx 30 years old _________________________________ ABOUT THE SENUFO TRIBE Senufo stools are a favorite piece of décor used by interior designers. They are created out of a single piece of wood and organically carved with smooth and curving edges, flowing forward and downwards. egionally, the Senufo are famous as musicians and superb carvers of wood sculptures, masks, and figurines. The Senufo people have specialized their art and handicraft work by subgroups, wherein the art is learned within this group, passed from one generation to the next. Training to become an artisan takes about seven or eight years; commencing with an apprenticeship where the trainees create objects not associated with the religion of the Senufo, then culminating with an initiation process where they obtain the ability to create ritual objects. NOTE: Please keep in mind this is a vintage Senufo stool and the beauty is the imperfections from the chips, cracks and slight breaks.
