What's the buzz in your house? Here's what's been buzzing around in mine... It's overwhelming to think about the state of our world. And I for one, don't know what to make of this Covid19 virus. I hear scary things...i understand the potential ramifications of this pandemic...I know it IS serious! I truly pray for you all...that your mind, body and spirit are healthy, and happy thoughts fill your heart. Many are making masks...what a call to action! Thank you Thank you! Not only have i been thinking about all the healthcare workers...which are dear to my heart...I've also been thinking about my neighbors...those i don't know well...home with small children, husbands and wives out of work, the single person ...And that got me thinking. I want to do something for my neighbors, reach out, say hello, let them know i care. So of course, being a quilter....i came up with a potholder idea. I guess you could say, all those homemade bread posts I've been seeing on Instagram and Facebook sparked this idea! The potholder or hot pad is called 'Hi Neighbor!' But could easily be given to friends and family letting them know you are thinking of them. I've contemplated how to package the hot pad for safe delivery...(see pattern instructions, bottom of page 2). If you have another or better idea...please share! Fabrics used are from the line Beehive by Renee Nanneman. I know she has them available in her shop! Kit Now available! And i quilted mine on my domestic sewing machine. Nothing fancy...just some straight line quilting. If you are on Instagram...tag me @laughyourselfintostitches I'd love to see your Hi Neighbor! hotpads :) UPDATE! Full size Hi Neighbor! quilt pattern using the hot pad instructions below is now available in a NEW BLOG POST Ain't it cute?? Follow along on Instagram and Facebook! How to use Print Friendly** If you would like to use the 'print friendly' button at the bottom of this post or any post, i recommend clicking on the Post Title first (so you only print the post you want...and not the entire blog). Once the print friendly option is open on your screen, the post can be printed in a number of pages. You can select just the pages you wish to print. Page numbers will be listed at the bottom of each page. You'll want to select 'All' or 'Custom'. Only want to print one page?...click 'Custom' and select the desired page number... example: only want to print page 3? You'll want to enter 3-3. Want to print pages 3-6? The enter 3-6, etc..

I am in "full throttle" gift sewing mode here at the Randell house but did take a moment to make a collage of my blocks so far in the Vintage block Quilt Along. I started the Quilt Along about this time last year with the goal to have all 12 blocks complete. Well....I am a little behind but will provide free patterns and detailed tutorials for three more blocks over the next few months. I just love these vintage blocks. I imagine quilters in the 1930's hand piecing these lovely blocks with well loved clothes just like my great grandmother did! I hope you will join in. There is no pressure and they will be up on my blog for you to create at your leisure : ) Click on the "Vintage Block Quilt Along" tab in the top bar for a link to each block. Take a peek at the Vintage Block Quilt Along Flickr Group - you will find some seriously gorgeous blocks! Happy Sewing xo Charise

Base Please have a read through of the Tips before purchasing ingredients and proceeding. They are there to help you get the Ohhh Emmm Geee result. ***If you have questions, PLEASE contact me directly via my Facebook page Ali Hammo - Thriving with Thermo *** HAPPY COOKING! Line rectangular slice tin (mine is 18x28cm) with baking paper & preheat oven to 180deg (fan forced). Melt butter, 2 min 50deg sp2 Once butter is melted, add flour, sugar & coconut & mix 10sec sp3. Scrape down sides and repeat if required. Press into tin & bake 10-12 mins @ 180deg. If it looks undercooked at this point, give it 2-3 more minutes until lightly golden. Only you can judge your oven. Caramel While base is cooking, rinse bowl if you feel the desire, I don't. Add all Caramel ingredients & cook 22mins 90deg sp4 Once cooked in bowl, pour over base (you can choose to do this straight away, or wait until the base has cooled), smooth & bake in oven for 15mins(ish) 180deg (this may take longer depending on your oven, that's ok - it MUST be bubbly all over, and this may brown, that's ok don't panic, it makes it more caramelly). If you'd like a hot caramel, now's your time! Add milk to the bowl, 3min 80deg sp3. Drink up, Enjoy & You're welcome! Once caramel is beautiful, bubbly, and brown, remove from oven & set aside to cool. (I like it to cool at room temp - if you're in a warm climate - not in Tassie - or in a hurry, you may like to cool it in the fridge) Chocolate Top Wash & dry mixing bowl. Pop choc in mixing bowl & grate for 6-8secs sp8 then add oil and melt 2min30secs 50deg sp 2 pour over caramel & smooth. Pop 200ml milk into the mixing bowl and cook 3min 80deg sp3 - give it a whizz on a higher speed to get all the choc off the sides and froth your milk slightly - enjoy your hot chocolate while you wait Leave to set at room temp (again, if you live in a hot climate, go with the fridge if you prefer) then slice with hot knife (or hot pizza cutter). Store in fridge & ENJOY Please don't forget to rate

What is the first thought that comes to mind when you imagine things to do in Bucharest? Movies certainly portray the Romanian capital as an endless sea of grey concrete blocks, a post-communist country with bad music and angry people. This might have been the case 30 years ago, but today, Bucharest is a flourishing capital city with exquisite French architecture, a Berlinesque nightlife and a contrasting way of life.
